Silicobra (Japanese: スナヘビ, Hepburn: Sunahebi) (sih-lih-KOH-bruh[1]) is a ground-type introduced in Generation VIII.
Biology
Physiology
Silicobra is a small, snake-like Pokémon that is colored tan, beige and dark brown and has green eyes with black pupils.
Behavior
While digging, it will swallow at least 17 pounds of sand and store it in its neck pouch. When it feels threatened, it will spew sand from its nostrils to blind the enemy before retreating to its burrow to hide. They are not very fast, however; prey that manage to flee from these sand blasts can usually make it to safety before Silicobra can catch up. Silicobra with full neck pouches are weighed down even further, ensuring that they will not be able to chase down their quarry. Contrary to popular belief, neither Silicobra nor their evolutions are venomous.
Evolution
Silicobra evolves into Sandaconda when it reaches level 36.

Trivia
Origin
Silicobra's design is based on a cobra or other types of desert-dwelling snakes such as the rattlesnake or sidewinder. It could also be based on hognose snakes, which is known for flattening their neck when threatened. Despite it's name, Silicobra can't learn Bite.
Etymology
- Eng: Silicobra may be a combination of silicon and cobra.
- Jpn: Sunahebi simply means sand snake.
