    Trivia

    • Fuecoco is the second starter Pokémon based on a crocodile, the first being Totodile.
      • It is also the third pokemon to be based on a crocodile with Totodile being the first and Sandile being the second.
    • Fuecoco and its evolved forms are the only Fire-type starters based on an animal not represented in the Chinese Zodiac.

    Origin

Fuecoco largely resembles a crocodile and a dinosaur. Its shape and coloration resemble that of a chili pepper and ghost pepper, befitting of its Fire typing. It also shares traits with an apple such as its coloration, its face resembling an apple cut in half, its eyes resembling apple seeds, its tail resembling an apple slice, and the yellow stems on its head resembling an apple stem and leaf.

    Etymology

Fuecoco may originate from the Spanish words fuego (fire) and cocodrilo (crocodile). It may also incorporate cocoa, as its coloration and shape slightly resemble that of a cocoa bean pod.
