Profile
Background
Lepant is the husband of Eileen and the father of Sheena. He wields the one-handed sword Kirinji. He was a wealthy landowner who had a mansion in the town of Kouan. As the largest landowner in the Kouan area, he was known for his honorable character and chivalrous spirit. Lepant was highly respected by the residents of the area. He was also famous for hosting many guests, particularly favoring craftsmen and carpenters with generous hospitality.
Appearance
Personality
Lepant is a brave warrior and a family man who serves as a wealthy landowner in Kouan. Upon his family, he loves his wife Eileen but also became strict and firm to his son, Sheena when he angrily pinches his ear during his recruitment after showing his dislike to his son's flirtatious behavior and his antics to chase after young women. This is also happens in Suikoden II where he strictly tells his son to improve his skills and abilities by requesting Riou to let him join to the New States Army as part of the alliance.
Story
Suikoden I
Before the Gate Rune Wars, he was a successful merchant at Kouan, but he secluded himself so that he wouldn't have to get involved with the Gate Rune Wars. However, when Tir and company stole Kirinji in an effort to gain audience with Lepant, Kraze kidnapped his wife, Eileen. Lepant went to rescue her, and with Tir's help they confronted Kraze, who sends soldiers against them, then held Eileen hostage.
Kraze then summoned Pahn, who rebelled against Kraze and rescued Eileen. With Kraze dealt with, and the corruption of the Scarlet Moon Empire revealed, Lepant decided to join with the Liberation Army. At this time, he tries to tell Eileen that they are no longer married to spare her the hardships of war, but she chose to remain at his side. Lepant is a fierce warrior, and with his sword Kirinji, he was second to none in battle. During Sheena's recruitment, Lepant caught his son Sheena flirting an inn maid at Seika which leads him to drag his son back to Toran Castle while angrily pinching his ear upon being recruited by Tir in the Liberation Army.
After the Gate Rune Wars was over, Tir McDohl leaves without a word. This sent a massive shock throughout the Toran Liberation Army, so everyone asked Lepant to become the President. Lepant agrees, and became the first president of the Toran Republic.
Suikoden II
During the Dunan Unification War, Lepant makes amends with the New State Army and acknowledges that Luca Blight poses a danger to the Toran Republic as well (as it would logically be the next target in the insane King's rampage), he lends a battalion of the Toran military; along with either Valeria or Kasumi to lead it in their battle against the Highland Kingdom.
Role in the Game
Lepant is a strong front line fighter.

Trivia
- Lepant also appears in Suikoden II, in Gregminster castle and his main weapon Kirinji is passed on to his son, Sheena.
- In the original Suikoden, when Lepant joins temporarily the party in Kouan, he was always put in the back row and being an S range character he wasn't able to participate in the battle. This has been corrected in the remaster version, and he is now automatically put in the front row.
