Tesla is a skilled scrivener with a nervous disposition. He currently resides in Antei, under a fake name, Albert Onyx.
Appearance
In Suikoden, Tesla have black hair and a pointy beard. He wears a yellow coat, yellow pant and have a blue shirt. He also have a blue hat on his head.
In Suikoden II, his appearance remains the same except that he now wears a black pant instead of his previous yellow one.

Story
Suikoden I
Before the Gate Rune Wars, Tesla had been involved with Mathiu Silverberg doing shady work by creating fake orders and other documents. However, Tesla's nerves weren't quite up to being a criminal, and so he attempted to leave that life behind by assuming the role of a humble merchant, Albert Onyx, and setting up business in Antei.
However, when Mathiu needed Tesla's help to create fake orders in order to free Liukan from Soniere Prison, Tir and Viktor managed to see through Tesla's facade and fooled him into admitting his true identity. Finally he decided to join the Liberation Army a bit against his will. Tesla remains a reluctant member, often wishing to return home.
After the end of the war, President Lepant appointed Tesla as the Secretary General of the Toran Republic.
Suikoden II
During the Dunan Unification War, Tesla was present when an alliance was forged between the New State Army and the Toran Republic. He reported to President Lepant that the capital guards and the border patrol they could deploy was around 5,000 men.
Tesla can be seen in Suikoden II in Gregminster Palace, but he is only a mere npc.
Japanese sources refer to him as being commissioned or appointed as トラン共和国の書記官 after the end of the Toran War. This title translates to Secretary of the Toran Republic. However, it does not refer to someone who has a high-level position, such as a member of the cabinet. 書記官 is used as a term to mean a general secretary or a civil servant. It can refer to someone who is a diplomat or someone who works in the courts or other government office. Unlike other characters, his position is never given more official titles such as commander or cabinet secretary. Other sites have started that his position is something similar to Secretary of State, but that seems to be a misunderstanding of the Japanese.
