Background
Born in the year SY 428, the painting prodigy is renowned even as far as the Queendom of Falena even at a very young age.
Ivanov's brush styles are unique and he is so popular that the sight of a rare Ivanov Painting inspires Bastan to join The Prince of Falena.
He was a genius painter with exceptional color sense and sharp intuition. "Freedom" was his eternal theme, and he constantly searched for the colors and subjects to express it
His talents caught the eye of Milich Oppenheimer, who imprisoned him in Scarleticia Castle. Forced to paint, he couldn't muster any creative desire, despite the luxurious environment, because he lacked "freedom" himself.

Game
During the Toran Liberation War, after seeing Tir McDohl defeat Milichh, Ivanov was intensely inspired and joined the Liberation Army.
In order to complete his mural of the Liberation Army, Ivanov requested several rare paints from all over the Toran region. He then completed a mural in the army's headquarters, depicting the theme of "freedom" and the bravery of the Liberation Army.
After completing the mural, Ivanov gives the hero the Binoculars. After the war, he sets off on a journey to find "the color of freedom."
Role in the Game
Speak with him at Scarleticia Castle after defeating Milich Oppenheimer.
If Ivanov complete his mural he will give the Binoculars which allows the Player 2 Controller to adjust the camera angle in regular battles with the L/R buttons.

Trivia
In Suikoden V, Ivanov is given a shout-out in-game when recruiting the character of Bastan, the thief/appraiser is so moved by one of Ivanov's paintings that he becomes willing to join your party.
