Camille
"Come on, gimme that money you owe me, right now!"
Camille was a highly skilled spear user who worked as a debt collector. Her motto was, "I'll collect even from the afterlife," and her relentless pursuit of debt evaders earned her the nickname "Demon Camille" or "She-Devil."
Her spear is has a slightly thicker blade.
Appearance
Camille is a red haired woman who has a lanky structure. She wears a one piece leotard armor, long boots and shoulder pads, and wields a spear as a weapon.
Personality
Camille has a steadfast personality, fiery and a little aggressive at times. She becomes one of Tir McDohl's most loyal companions however, and ends up even caring about the group, who had originally just owned her some money. Originally, she was very serious in getting that money back, but in time ended up becoming a talented general of the Toran Republic after it was formed.
Story
Game
During the Gate Rune Wars, Camille chased Gremio to Kaku to collect money he owed her, along with his unpaid tab at the Scarlet Moon Inn in Gregminster. Cleo wondered if Gremio's gotten himself into debt, but Camille had proof of his bill. It was the bill for the banquet he had for Teo. They did not have the money to pay off the debt at the moment. She ended up accompanying Tir McDohl's group after Viktor convinced her she could recover her money after finding Tai Ho. Eventually, she was roped into assisting with the assault on Toran Castle, which became the Liberation Army's headquarters. Over time, she became a member of the Liberation Army, despite initially declaring she had no intention of staying once her debts were collected.
Although she claimed she would leave once her debts were paid, she fought alongside the army until the final battle. This showed that, despite her fearsome reputation, she possessed a strong sense of loyalty. After the war, she was recognized for her achievements and appointed as a spear-fighting instructor in the Toran Republic, passing on her skills to many. She was appointed as one of the Six Great Generals of the Toran Republic.
It remains unclear whether Gremio ever repaid his debt. However, given her persistence with money, she likely would have pursued him to the ends of the earth if necessary.
All of Camille's weapon names are taken from Norse mythology. "Galm" and "Fenril" are mistransliterations of Garm and Fenrir, who were a hell-hound and a monstrous wolf, respectively. "Loki" is the Norse god of mischief.
Rachel from Suikoden IV shares many similarities with her in terms of hair color, weapon, and profession. It's unknown if they are related or not.
