Story
Game
During the Toran Liberation War, Ain Gide was the commander of the Kwaba Fortress, responsible for protecting the imperial capital of Gregminster. Despite realizing the true identity of Tir McDohl, who was being pursued by the empire for treason, he deliberately overlooked it and allowed the protagonist to pass through, despite the qualms of his subordinate, Rosh. He prioritized his friendship with Teo over his duties as an Imperial officer. As the protagonist passed through the fortress, he only said one thing: "Hey, boy. Take care of your father."
However, he remained loyal to the Empire throughout the Gate Rune War, and was not encountered again by Tir until the final battle at Gregminster, as the Kwaba Fortress was never attacked. Gide waited outside the gates of Gregminster Palace for the Liberation Army, putting himself between the castle and the attackers and refusing to yield. Tir and his party fought Gide, despite their own hesitation to do so, and won. As a result, Gide perished in his attempt to defend his Emperor and, in his last words, promised that he would go on ahead of Barbarosa.
