Pilika

Pilika is a girl who lived in Toto Village with her family.
Appearance
Pilika has short brown hair and large brown eyes. In the remastered version, her eyes are now hazel. She wears a pink dress and brown shoes. In the artwork, she carries a teddy bear.
When she was finally adoped by Jowy Atreides and Jillia Blight, her hair was tied in a ribbon to show lesser fringes on her hair, she now wears a salmon pink and white royal dress with a black top underneath and pink shoes and white socks.
Personality
Pilika is a cheerful girl by nature, originally being an upbeat and excitable child. All the events she witnessed had a deep impact on her and changed her forever.
For a while, she became traumatized greatly, and was unable to even speak at all, or even cry in some cases. She still had love in her heart for Jowy, who she sees as a family member, and upon being reunited with him, was able to speak his name.
Though, seen later, she seemed to be much more somber than before, and had a sadness in her, as well as a fear of losing her Uncle Jowy once more.
She is shown after the story living with former Princess Jillia someplace in Harmonia. It's unknown how she's doing, but she seemed a bit happier than before.

Pilika is a girl who befriends Jowy and Riou after her family rescues Jowy when he was washed up near Toto River, after Jowy and Riou jumped from the cliff of Tenzan Pass after the massacre of the Highland Youth Brigade by Luca Blight. She is the only survivor of Luca Blight's attack on Toto, and left an orphan when her parents, Marx and Joanna, die in the massacre. She survived that massacre since her father told her to hide.
After the fall of the Mercenary Fortress, during which she is almost killed by Luca, she is rendered mute. When she wants to say something, it is always ".....", because she is in shock after she saw Luca kill Pohl in front of her and was almost killed by Luca herself if it wasn't for Riou and Jowy stopping Luca of doing so. After that, she was in shock, and kept saying "......" whenever she wanted to express something. She is cared for by Jowy, Riou, and Nanami until the fall of Muse, when Jowy assassinated Lady Anabelle under Highland order. This allowed the Highland Army to enter and occupied Muse.
She remains with Riou and companions until Shu uses Pilika as a deterrent against Jowy to protect Riou and Teresa Wisemail in the peace conference held in Highland-occupied Muse. Shu did this because he thought that Jowy would not want to hurt anyone if Pilika is around. In Highland-occupied Muse, where the peace conference between Highland and the Dunan Liberation Army was being held, when Jowy saw Pilika running to him and Leon Silverberg, he ordered his army not to shoot Riou and his companions, as he couldn't shoot his own friends in front of Pilika. This was when Pilika started to speak again, telling Jowy how she misses him. Before the fall of L'Renouille, Jowy and his wife, Jillia Blight, adopt Pilika as their daughter and she remains with Jillia from then on.
Trivia
In the remastered version, Pilika's game dubbing icons have slight changes. Her crying icon now have tears from her eyes and her mute icon depicts her in a more sadder look.
