Kouan (コウアン; Kouan) is a location in Suikoden.
Overview
Kouan is a town located on the southern shore of Lake Toran. The buildings in Kouan feature simple stone walls, a style commonly seen in the Gouran Region.
Its influential and wealthy landowner, Lepant, was highly respected by the people. Unable to endure the actions of Kraze, the military governor of the time, Lepant defected from the Empire. He subsequently joined the Liberation Army, where he played an active role. He later became the first president of the Toran Republic, and remains a source of pride for the residents. His large mansion still stands as a testament to his legacy.
The population of the town was given as 2,200 at the foundation of the Toran Republic.
