Profile
Background
Alen was born from a poor family, had a dream of becoming one of the officers of Teo McDohl. Alen made his dream come true, becoming a member of McDohl's Armored Cavalry, along with his colleague Grenseal.
Appearance
Alen had black hair (rendered as dark-blue on his sprite) and wore white armor with a red cape. His weapon of choice is a sword.
Personality
Alen, much like Grenseal, would have given his life for Teo and would do anything to honor his wishes. He bore the "Rage Rune" and was known as the "Flame General" due to his hot-blooded and fierce personality.
Story
Suikoden I
During the Toran Liberation War, Alen opposed the Liberation Army led by Tir and never surrendered even when the armored cavalry unit was nearly annihilated by the Liberation Army's "Fire Spears." However, after Teo was defeated in a duel with Tir, he decided to join the Liberation Army along with Alen, following Teo's dying wish. Without Teo's last words, he would have likely fought the Liberation Army with unwavering resolve until his last breath. Nonetheless, after joining the Liberation Army, Alen displayed his full capabilities as the Flame General, becoming a major driving force behind the Liberation Army's victory.
After the war, he was appointed as Co-Commander of the Republican Guard.
Suikoden II
During the Dunan Unification War, Alen was present when an alliance was forged between the New State Army and the Toran Republic. He stood beside President Lepant with Grenseal as co-commanders of the Republican Guard.
