Speed Down

Speed Down[1][2] (スピードダウン[3] Supīdo Daun?) is an Item Box obstacle that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. When obtained, it slows an Extreme Gear rider down to a crawl and prevents GP actions.

Description

In gameplay, when the player obtains Speed Down, a heavy metal ball appears and is connected to the playable character's Extreme Gear with a chain. When this happens, the player's speed is reduced to no more than 120km/h.[3] In addition, Speed Down prevents the player from using GP actions, namely Gravity Control and Gravity Dive. Its effects only last for a limited amount of time, however you can jump 3 times to cancel the effect.
