The Harvest Time is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Projectile Item used primarily to attack rivals.

Description

The Harvest Time takes the form of a gray and black scythe with a purple aura emitting from it, both as an icon and on the tracks.

Overview

In gameplay, the Harvest Time can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Reaper Metal Sonic. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Harvest Time if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Harvest Time by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user performs a horizontal scythe slash around themselves that can damage nearby rival characters on the lanes adjacent to the user, causing them to lose Rings and stop moving for a moment, and lose one random power-up in their inventory slots on the HUD. To avoid the Harvest Time, the playable character either has to jump when the scythe is about to hit them or get to a lane that the attack cannot reach.

The Harvest Time can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For each upgrade, the Harvest Time will increase damage.
