The Umbrella Boost is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description The Umbrella Boost's takes the form of Big 's umbrella, which has a yellow screen. It also has air currents swirling around it. In gameplay, the Umbrella Boost becomes the user with the aforementioned umbrella opened up and spinning in front of them as a gust of wind pushes them forward from behind while the user leaves a colored aura trail behind them.
Overview
In gameplay, the Umbrella Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Big .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Umbrella Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Umbrella Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Umbrella Boost is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Umbrella Boost is in effect. In addition, any rival character who makes contact with the user while the Umbrella Boost is in effect will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily.
The Umbrella Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the Umbrella Boost will last longer.
Variants Festive Umbrella Boost
The Festive Umbrella Boost is a variant of the Umbrella Boost. It is the equivalent used exclusively by Santa Big . It first appeared in Sonic Forces: Speed Battle
