The Gift Trapped is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description The Gift Trapped takes the form of a yellow iron ball with gray spikes and a red bow wrapped around it that is similar to the one seen in the Flue Shot chimney, both as an icon and on the track.
Overview In gameplay, the Gift Trapped can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Jingle Belle Amy . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Gift Trapped if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Gift Trapped by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user drops a number of the Gift Trapped's iron balls behind them as they move forward and switch lanes. These iron balls will then set themselves for a short amount of time on the spot on the lane they were dropped on. If a rival character collides with said iron balls, they will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. To avoid the Gift Trapped, the playable character has to either step out of its iron balls' lanes or jump over them.
The Gift Trapped can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. For each upgrade, the number of iron balls dropped when using Gift Trapped will be increased.
