The Cannonball is unlocked in the game by completing the Babylon Story in Story Mode and can be purchased at the shop for 3,500 Rings.
The Cannonball mostly resembles a pair of red roller skates, with blue stripes on the sides and white highlights on the section where the tongues should be. It also has gray fins on the sides of the soles and exhaust ports on the heels.
Abilities and traits
As a Skate type Extreme Gear in Sonic Riders, the Cannonball is less powerful than most Extreme Gears, but is also more agile and more fuel-efficient.
The Cannonball has zero points on all its stats, giving it extremely low basic skills. However, it consumes virtually no Air when performing Air Boosts, essentially allowing the players to boost constantly during a race.
Despite its ability to constantly execute Air Boosts, the Cannonball has several drawbacks; because of its low boost speed, its Air boosts are not very efficient on their own when needed to travel further and faster. Also, when using the Cannonball, the player's character is unable to attack. Its foremost drawback, however, is that it cannot replenish its Air Tank from tricks, Automatic Trails, grinding, Air Riding, and smashing obstacles. The only ways to replenish Air is by going through Air Pits, increasing the player's level and opening Item Boxes that have Air inside.
