The Psychic Strike is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Projectile Item used primarily to attack rivals.

Description

The Psychic Strike takes the form of Sir Galahad's sword with a fiery cyan aura surrounding the entire blade. In gameplay, a cyan aura surrounds Sir Galahad's sword and it leaves a cyan trail in its wake.

Overview

In gameplay, the Psychic Strike can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Sir Galahad. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Psychic Strike if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Psychic Strike by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user sets loose Sir Galahad's sword that travels down the lane they were deployed on in front of the user. After flying down the lane for a moment though, the sword will ricochet in the opposite direction on the lane they are on. Opponents caught in the path of the sword will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. If the player succeeds in hitting an opponent with this attack, they will gain Rings. In addition, the Psychic Strike can travel through obstacles and will continue moving after hitting rival characters. To avoid the Psychic Strike, the playable character has to step out of its lane.

The Psychic Strike can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For each upgrade, the player will increase the damage dealt with the Psychic Strike.
