Tricky Towers
The Tricky Towers is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description The Tricky Towers icon takes form of a tower with some wood, glass and stone blocks, along with an explosion knocking it down. In gameplay, this power-up will spawn obstacles that look like the towers seen in the classic Angry Birds games.
Overview In gameplay, the Tricky Towers can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Chuck and Red . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Tricky Towers if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Tricky Towers by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Tricky Towers will sprout towers of wood, glass and stone ahead of the user's current location on all the lanes that the user is not currently on. There are different types of towers, built in random ways, which means there is more than one way to avoid the Tricky Towers in the lane. If a character collides with any of the towers, including the user themselves, they will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. To avoid the Tricky Towers, the player must jump over, slide under or run in-between them (as long as these towers are built that way).
The Tricky Towers can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. For each upgrade, the Tricky Towers will deal more damage.
Trivia This power-up is based on the towers the pigs can build in the Angry Birds
