The Jingle Boost is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Boost Item used primarily to increase the user's speed.

Description

The Jingle Boost's icon takes the form of a white and light blue-colored, cone-shaped aura with a snowflake-shaped disk on the front and white and light blue-colored rings with snowflakes adorning them around its aura trail. In gameplay, this power-up becomes a light blue, sphere-shaped force-field enveloping the user with swirls around it and a light blue and white aura trail.

Overview

In gameplay, the Jingle Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Nutcracker Silver.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Jingle Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Jingle Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Jingle Boost is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Jingle Boost is in effect. Also, should the user take damage while the Jingle Boost is in effect, the Jingle Boost will negate the damage and slowdown the user would otherwise receive, like a Shield, though at the cost of the Jingle Boost ending prematurely. In addition, any rival character who makes contact with the user while the Jingle Boost is in effect will lose Rings and be frozen.

The Jingle Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. At level 2 and 14 the Jingle Boost's speed is increased, while at level 8 it recieves an increase in damage.
