The Shed Light is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Projectile Item used primarily to attack rivals.

Description

The Shed Light's icon takes the form of the torch with yellow light turning on. In gameplay, the Shed Light will became a torch which flying ahead target rival.

Overview

In gameplay, the Shed Light can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Detective Vector. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Shed Light if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Shed Light by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, all the item slots on the HUD will turn into characters' icon who rival characters used during the battle with their current rank at the top right (the order each rival appear in the item slots count from left as the order of their current trophies before the battle from the highest). The user can target any of the rivals of own choice by pressing one of their characters on the bottom of the HUD. After that, the torch will appear above the said rival. If a rival character gets struck by the Shed Light as it comes down, they will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. Additionally, the player's screen will be obscured by a bright light. The effects of the Shed Light will only last for a short time however.

The Shed Light can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For each upgrade, the damage of the Shed Light will increase.
