Transparency

Transparency (透明[2][1] Tōmei?) is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Exclusive to multiplayer, this power-up turns the either the player[1] or Chao invisible for a short period of time when obtained.

Description

Item Boxes that contain Transparency generally depict an icon that displays six light blue lines extending out from a circle on a blue background.

Transparency is used exclusively in multiplayer gameplay. When collected, it temporarily changes a character's appearance to be transparent, making them invisible to opponents.

Sonic Advance series

Sonic Advance

This power-up made its first appearance in Sonic Advance. In gameplay, Transparency only appears in the Chao Hunt multiplayer feature in VS Mode. Whenever the player obtains Transparency, it will temporarily make all Chao in the minigame appear invisible to other players.

Sonic Advance 3

In Sonic Advance 3, Boxes that contain Transparency use the same graphic as the one used in Sonic Advance. In gameplay, Transparency only appears in the game's Single-Pak Battle multiplayer. Whenever the player obtains Transparency, the player's character will become invisible to opponents. During gameplay in this mode, the Boxes cycle through the power-ups available, including Transparency.
