Flame Lance

The Flame Lance (フレームランス Furēmuransu?) is a Board type Extreme Gear that appears in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity and Sonic Free Riders. It is Blaze the Cat's personal Extreme Gear, and her default Extreme Gear. It is obtained in both games when unlocking Blaze as a playable character.

Description

The Flame Lance first appeared in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. According to its profile, the creator of the Flame Lance is unknown, but it is designed to reflect Blaze's status as an elegant princess. It is unlocked in the game, alongside Blaze, by completing the Babylon Rogues' Story Mode. It is only useable to Blaze in normal races, but is usable to all characters (except Dr. Eggman) in Survival Relay.

In this game, the Flame Lance's shape resembles somewhat that of a hourglass-shaped arrow head. The edges on the sides are colored pink, while the rear and front are colored yellow, with yellow highlights running across the Flame Lance. The top surface of the Flame Lance is colored magenta, with light grayish mulberry flames on it. It also have silver-colored circular foot panels on the top surface, with a purple area between them.

Abilities and traits

As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Flame Lance is well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics, and is suited for general riding. Like most other character-exclusive Extreme Gears, the Flame Lance does not possess any unique abilities of its own.

Description

The Flame Lance reappeared in Sonic Free Riders. According to its profile, the origin of the Flame Lance is unknown, but it has now been designed to match both the social class and the power of Blaze's title as a princess. It is obtained in the game, alongside Blaze, by completing Team Rose's and Team Dark's stories. It is only useable to Blaze in normal races, but is usable to all characters (except Dr. Eggman and Vector) in Relay Race.

In Sonic Free Riders, the Flame Lance received a noticable redesign. In this game, it has received a more smooth shape, making it resemble a rocket. It is mostly colored light grayish mulberry, while the front, rear and midsection of it are colored purple. It also has yellow highlights on the front, rear and top midsection, and grey circular pads on the top surface.

Abilities and traits

As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Free Riders, the Flame Lance is, like in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics, and is suited for general riding.

Like in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Flame Lance possesses no unique abilities of its own, but it can be equipped with two Gear Parts.

Sonic Speed Simulator

In Sonic Speed Simulator, the Flame Lance appears in its Sonic Free Riders design as an unlockable Extreme Gear earned as the 2nd prize of the "Blaze the Cat Event" by destroying 300 Badniks. Once unlocked, the Flame Lance and its variants can be used by any character, and essentially functions similarly to all other Extreme Gears in the game. The Flame Lance also has an in-game rarity of "Legendary".

A variant called the Flame Lance ZG, based on its Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity design, was made available during the "Maid Blaze Event", requiring the player to destroy 500 Badniks. The Flame Lance ZG also has an in-game rarity of "Legendary".

Trivia

  • The reason why the creator and the origin of the Flame Lance are unknown may be because the Flame Lance originates from Blaze's homeworld.
