The Gambler (ギャンブラー,Gyanburā?) is a recurring Board type Extreme Gear in the Sonic Riders series. Its primary function is to manipulate the Rings the player has collected through the course, being able to double the number of Rings, depending on the player's place in the race.
The Gambler made its first appearance in Sonic Riders. According to its profile, the Gambler was once used by a legendary gambler. It can be purchased at the shop for 4,000 Rings.
The Gambler is designed as a rather rectangular board. It is mostly colored earth yellow, with a smaller rectangular silver-colored foot panel with brown borders on to the top surface. Also, on the front and rear on the Gambler, it has smaller brown segments, with dark grey markings on them.
Abilities and traits
As a Board-type Extreme Gear, the Gambler is well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics, an average rate of fuel-consumption and is suited for general riding.
The Gambler has poor basic stats, but if the player positions first while it is equipped, the Rings earned are doubled. However, the drawbacks of the Gambler is that it consumes more Air than the standard Gear and the player cannot use their character's Type Ability.

baby, and you'll see.
The Gambler later returned in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. According to its profile, the Gambler is the perfect Extreme Gear for riders that want to earn Rings fast. It can be purchased at the shop for 5,160 Rings.
In Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Gambler was given a slight redesign. In this game, the Gambler keeps its earth yellow color scheme, but is slightly more broad and bulky in structure. On its top surface it has two black circular foot panels with a silver-colored rectangular area between them. The foot panels and this area have then a line of brown bordering their sides and rear, with a black streak on the front, while the brown in the back extends over the rear with a white accent. Also, the front of the Gambler is much broader than the rest of the Gambler, with a few recesses on the front.
Abilities and traits
As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Gambler is well-balanced in its attributes with average statistics and is suited for general riding. In this game, the Gambler is given more balanced stats, while maintaining the same ring-manipulating capabilities as it had in Sonic Riders although it also works in Time Attack mode races, with the player's earned Rings always doubled upon finishing the race.
The Gambler returned again in Sonic Free Riders. According to its profile, it was designed for the "Ring-hungry rider". It can be purchased from the shop for three hundred Rings.
In Sonic Free Riders, the Gambler is given another new design. In this game, Gambler has a more sleek and board-like design, with grey accents on the front, rear, in stripes down the sides and on the top surface, while the remainder of it is colored orange.
Abilities and traits
As a Board type Extreme Gear in Sonic Free Riders, the Gambler is, like in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, well-balanced in its attributes and is suited for general riding.
Just like in the two previous titles, the Gambler maintains the same Ring-manipulating capabilities it had in the previous games. It can be equipped with two Gear Parts.
