Profile

Azura is the daughter of Arete who became the step-daughter to King Garon of Nohr when Arete became the second Queen of Nohr shortly after the death of Katerina. Azura was born in Valla as the daughter of its queen, Arete, and her husband, the king. When her father was killed by Anankos and Valla fell at a later date, Arete and Azura, along with Mikoto and her child, Corrin, fled from Valla to the world outside the Bottomless Canyon. Azura and Arete ended up in Nohr, where Azura eventually joined the Nohrian royal family as a princess when her mother became Nohr's and King Garon's second queen consort a while after Leo was born.

"End of spoilers. It's a pleasure doing business with you!"

Azura grew up under the veil of the hostile Nohrian royal court. Already feeling isolated from her new step-family, Arete died under mysterious circumstances, leaving her feeling truly alone. Shortly after King Garon ambushed King Sumeragi of Hoshido in order to capture Corrin, Hoshido responded by hiring Shura to kidnap Azura in hopes of setting up an exchange. Uninterested in his step-daughter nor relinquishing Corrin, Azura remained in Hoshido. At Queen Mikoto's request, Azura was treated as an official princess of Hoshido. While many had reservations due to her Nohrian ties, her new family and the populace grew to accept her and thus Azura did not desire to return home to Nohr.

Prologue

Corrin first meets Azura when they stumble upon her singing by a lake. There, Azura explains that she was a princess of Nohr that was kidnapped by Hoshido, in a similar situation to that of Corrin's, and that she was always happy in Hoshido despite technically being a hostage. She also mentions that she would prefer to stay in Hoshido if she had the choice to return to Nohr, as Mikoto is a peaceful ruler while Garon is not. Several days later, Azura joins Hinoka, Takumi, and Sakura in giving Corrin a tour of Shirasagi on Mikoto's request.

During the following celebration of Corrin's return at the capital square, Corrin's Ganglari is detonated by a hooded man and kills most of the people attending, including Mikoto. Azura (along with Ryoma and Sakura) bears witness to Corrin's transformation into a mindless dragon. She then warns Corrin to avoid the Wyrmslayer-wielding mercenaries and assists them in defeating the Hooded Man. After the battle, Azura uses her powers to revert Corrin back into a human, even though she is nearly killed by the feral Corrin in the process. Corrin is confused about their dragon form, thus Azura gives them a Dragonstone, telling them that it will allow them to turn into a dragon again but will also keep their mind intact. She advises them to keep it with them at all costs, or the next time they turn into a dragon again without it, she may be unable to save them. She also mentions that she feels close to and safe with Corrin despite their short time together. Azura joins the Hoshido Siblings and Corrin to the Plains of Hoshido, where the Hoshidan and Nohrian armies meet. Depending on Corrin's choice, Azura's involvement with the story of Fates changes.

Birthright

Corrin decides to side with the Hoshido siblings and Azura assists them throughout their journey.

In Chapter 7, Azura leads Corrin to Fort Jinya, where she states that Sakura arrived ahead of them and is tending to a large number of wounded Hoshidan soldiers and citizens. Suddenly, the fort is attacked by Nohrians led by Silas, prompting her to join Corrin in warding off the invaders. After the battle, news revealing that Takumi and Ryoma have gone missing reach Fort Jinya, motivating Azura and Corrin to embark on a mission to locate them.

In Chapter 8, Azura and their allies cross though the Eternal Stairway to get through the Wind Tribe. Suddenly, Faceless ambush the Hoshidans. Kaze and Corrin kill the Faceless, only for the magic to drop and reveal them as Wind Tribe members. Iago teleports in, mocks the Hoshidans, knowing he can plot against them with Corrin on the Hoshido side and then teleports out to prevent the Wind Tribe from finding out that it was a ruse. After Iago disappears, the group discusses how their route takes them through Wind Tribe territory and they'll likely have a hard time explaining these events; during the discussion, Azura states Iago did them a favor by revealing himself as their enemy, as they must go through him to get to Garon.

In Chapter 9, Azura and Corrin's group are invited into the palace of Izumo by Izana. When Izana, revealed to be Zola in disguise, lures Corrin and Sakura into a trap, Hinoka, along with Kaze and Azura, manage to save them after she comes to the realization that Izana's eccentric mannerisms are antithetical to his royal status. However, her theory is proven wrong when they meet the real Izana, who acts in exactly the way Zola has portrayed him.

During Chapter 10, Azura can be brought onto the battlefield against the Mokushu forces. When Takumi arrives and attempts to kill Corrin, having her talk to him will allow her to banish the presence controlling him, and results in Takumi joining Corrin's army. If Azura is not brought into battle and Takumi is defeated, she still sings to him, breaking control after the battle regardless.

On the way to search for Ryoma, during Chapter 12, Azura offers to help Kaden repay a local songstress named Layla, who wants to visit her dying grandmother but is unable to because she has to perform for Garon. Zola disguises Azura as Layla with his magic, and she dances in Layla's place, using her water manipulation skills to discomfit Garon from the stage. However, during the performance Zola betrays the group, the spell drops, Garon executes Zola and Corrin's forces are forced to escape from the opera house. Outside, Azura collapses from exhaustion. Alarmed, Corrin tries to find out what is wrong, but Azura tells them not to worry about her.

In Chapter 14, Azura and the royals siblings happily reunite with Ryoma. Scarlet, the resistance's leader, learns only now that her allies are the Hoshidan royals, as Ryoma had joined her under cover to judge the group. Scarlet assures that many in the resistance have ties with Hoshido, herself being the granddaughter of one of king Sumeragi's servants. The conversation is interrupted by a crash, and outside the resistance is overwhelmed by Nohr troops even though the place was supposed to be secret. Azura suggests there is still a traitor among them, which surprises Corrin, stating that what happened with Zola had ended, but Azura is doubtful and asks how else could this have happened, leaving Corrin in shock. Ryoma orders a retreat along a secret path leading straight to Nohr territory.

After the Nohrians have been routed, Corrin sights Azura singing her song while walking around a lake and decides to watch her from a distance, in case she faints like in Nestra. When they approaches, Azura seems distant and refuses to talk about the song and its powers. She then briefly collapses in pain again, with purple marks crawling on her. She is forced to reveal to Corrin that the blood they share, combined with her medallion, let her infuse magical effects into the song, at the price of her own suffering. Even then, she assures Corrin she is ready to sing and suffer to defeat Garon and bring peace to the world and urges them to not hesitate to have her use the song. Corrin reluctantly accepts.

During Chapter 18, Leo ambushes Corrin's army as they attempt to pass through the Woods of the Forlorn. Before appearing before Corrin's army, he summons a horde of Faceless to greet them, and Leo promptly initiates his attack. After defeating Leo, Corrin seizes upon the opportunity to urge him to join their cause, only for him to decline due to refusing to take up arms against his family, including Garon. Azura steps forward at this point and entrusts a crystal ball into his possession, gently asking that he rethinks his decision after looking into its depths. Recognizing her as a former princess of Nohr, he asks if they bear any blood relations, only for her to avoid his questions and again urge him to find the answers he seeks in the crystal ball. Leo thereafter warns Corrin of the fact that Xander has become very strong, suggesting that they seek out the Rainbow Sage in Notre Sagesse to gain the power needed to fend against him. He then gives them a warp tome to transport them directly to Notre Sagesse before parting ways with them.

During Chapter 20, Iago traps the Hoshidan forces inside Fort Dragonfall by reanimating the dragon, rendering the army's weapons incapable of penetrating the walls of the fort. Azura tells Corrin that with her powers, she can weaken them. Corrin refuses to let her because of the consequences that come with it, but allows her to after she convinces them. After the battle, the Hoshidans escape the fortress and Azura sneaks away to hide the consequences of using her power. Corrin notices that it is getting worse, and she admits that the more powerful the target, the more energy she uses, and that using it too long would kill her. Corrin asks her not to use it too long again, fearing for her life. Azura complies but tells them that she will need to use it on Garon to end the war.

When the Hoshidans arrive at Windmire in Chapter 22, Shura and his gang attack them after Corrin refuses to relinquish Noble Yato. After defeating Shura, Azura asks to speak with him, deducing that he may know about the secret passageway to Castle Krakenburg. Azura reveals that, back when she was stolen away from Nohr, her captors did so from a secret tunnel leading from the castle, made long ago for the purpose of infiltrating the castle unseen and that Garon and the Nohrian royals know nothing about it; she deduce that, if the tunnel is still there, it would benefit the group greatly, then asks Shura if he knows about the tunnel, to which he agrees to after learning that Ryoma is the high prince. It is revealed that Shura was the one who kidnapped Azura, although she is unaware this. He is surprised to see how strong she has become after all those years.

In Chapter 25, Azura and the Hoshidan army arrive at a staircase landing leading to the throne room, where Iago ambushes them once more. He taunts Corrin for still being alive, but they are sick of Iago's games and tells him to just get it over with. He seizes full control over Takumi's mind, compelling him to take Azura as a hostage. Iago thereafter reveals Takumi to be the "traitor", as thanks to him, he knew of their whereabouts, gleefully forcing the Hoshidan royalty to decide whether or not to kill him or watch Azura die. However, thanks to Corrin's attempt to reach out to Takumi, he regains temporary control of his senses, allowing Azura to sing Lost in Thoughts All Alone to purify his mind and free him from Iago's curse. Iago tries to stop her, but Sakura manages to halt him long enough for Azura to finish her song. Takumi breaks free and shoots Iago, foiling his plans yet again. Iago fails to kill Corrin and is then killed by Leo for attempting to beg for his life, ending his deceitful and cowardly schemes and Leo allows the group to pass without further interference.

Xander, the last person guarding Garon, challenges Corrin to a duel in Chapter 26, both Azura and Ryoma are forced to watch the fight unfold without being able to interfere, but Elise sacrifices herself in order to stop Xander from killing Corrin. However, Xander still forces them to fight him. Before they can continue, Xander's retainers, Laslow and Peri, interrupts the duel and upon seeing Elise's corpse, they immediately attribute her death to Corrin and promptly summon Nohrian troops against Xander's orders to attack the Hoshidan army, forcing them to fight back, while Corrin fights Xander alone. After Xander is defeated, Azura watches as he tells Corrin to stop Garon as it will be the only way to bring true peace to the world and succumbs to his wounds. Although saddened by Xander's death, Corrin proceeds with confidence and leaves to the throne room to finally put an end to Garon once and for all.

In Chapter 27, Corrin reaches the throne room of Castle Krakenburg, and finally confronts Garon himself. Corrin attacks him. However, Noble Yato is unable to penetrate his armor, and in retaliation, Garon launches several blows at them. Azura attempts to use her powers to weaken him, but Garon anticipates this and grabs her, threatening to kill her unless they listen to his demands. Ryoma negotiates with him, and he responds that it is a wise choice. Garon demands that Hoshido unconditionally surrender so its lands can be incorporated into Nohr, then states that he wishes to kill Ryoma. Garon sends a fireball at Ryoma, wounding him.

Ryoma's Raijinto suddenly reacts to Noble Yato, empowering it into Blazing Yato. Corrin decides to test the new Yato on Garon, and he screams in pain, stating that it actually hurt. He threatens them with death and calls for his soldiers to kill Corrin and the Hoshidans, but they fail and the Hoshidans fight and defeat him.

Garon refuses to give up and transforms into his dragon form. Azura tells Corrin that she will sing Lost in Thoughts All Alone to weaken him. Knowing that it may kill her, Corrin tells her not to over do it. After a harsh battle, Garon is defeated for good. Azura collapses and dissolves into water as the result of overusing her necklace's power, with Corrin bursting into tears. In the ending, they converse with Azura's spirit by the lakeside where they first met her before Azura disappears and Ryoma calls them back.

"End of spoilers. It's a pleasure doing business with you!"

Conquest

Corrin decides to return to their adoptive siblings from Nohr and Azura fights them alongside the Hoshidan Siblings. After the end of the battle at the Plains of Hoshido, Azura returns to Hoshido.

"Just a minute! The following section contains spoilers. Viewing it will cost a lot. Are you prepared to pay for it?"

The Hoshidan people become suspicious of Azura because of her Nohrian origins. Though Ryoma does his best to quell any doubts of Azura's sincerity, Azura is captured by a faction of Hoshidans. She is later reunited with Corrin at Fort Dragonfall in Chapter 9, when their party coincidentally travels through the fort on their way to Notre Sagesse. Grateful for being rescued, she joins their party.

When Corrin's party reaches Cyrkensia in Chapter 14, she sings and dances before Garon and Nohrian troops, wearing a different dress and a facial veil to disguise herself. Unlike in Birthright, this dance causes visible pain to Garon. After the dance, Iago notices Garon is in pain and orders his men to capture the songstress, who he believes inflicted a curse on him during the dance, but fail after she escapes. After Kumagera appears and attempts to end Garon's life to end the war, Azura surprises Corrin, who did not see her leave her seat during the performance and like the other Nohrian troops, are unaware that she was the mysterious songstress.

Afterwards, she travels to Valla, unknowingly followed by Corrin. After rescuing Gunter and returning to the Bottomless Canyon, she reveals to Corrin that she was the mysterious songstress. However, the song she performed was not a curse, but a purification ritual meant to drive out the evil force controlling Garon. She reveals that it is too late to save him, and the man known as Garon is no more. She explains to Corrin that they must kill Garon to bring peace and the only way to defeat the evil presence is to get Garon to sit on the Hoshidan throne, meaning they would have to gain Garon's trust, win the war in Nohr's name and conquer Hoshido and force him to sit on the throne, which will expose his true form so they can kill him to truly end the war.

Later, when Corrin is reunited with Xander, they introduce him to his long-lost sister, Azura. Although Azura initially unsure of how Xander will react to her, Xander explains that he was aware of the hardships she faced as a child in Nohr as the people were upset at Garon marrying her mother after his own mother's death and that he, Camilla, and later Leo were discouraged from interacting with her. He then assures her that he is happy to see her again and is glad that all his siblings are reunited and that they can be a family again.

Azura follows Corrin throughout the invasion of Hoshido, conquering Fort Jinya, Great Wall of Suzanoh and Castle Shirasagi. Finally, the party reaches the throne room entrance, where they confront Ryoma, the last defense of Hoshido. Ryoma challenges Corrin to a duel to the death. Corrin emerges victorious, and Garon orders them to kill Ryoma or be considered a traitor and put to death. Upon learning that Hinoka's death was faked and that Corrin is the same person he knew, Ryoma entrusts the future of the world to Corrin and commits seppuku.

After conquering Hoshido and with no other defense left, King Garon arrives at the Shirasagi Throne Room, completing his goal. Demanding that they do not enter the throne room without his permission, he goes inside alone to bask in his glory and consult Anankos. Corrin and the others wait outside. Iago, along with Hans and Garon's loyalist, attempts to kill Corrin after discovering that they spared Hinoka, but Azura and the Nohrian siblings turn against him and calls them out for disgracing Nohr and their shameless crimes and without Garon to protect them anymore, they fight against Garon's loyalist. They manage to kill Hans and all of Garon's loyalist, leaving only Iago, who attempts to escape his punishment by begging for his life, but Leo silences him and calls him out for his cowardly crimes and mercilessly executes him, putting an end to his schemes against Corrin once and for all.

Azura tells Corrin it's time to reveal the truth and Corrin reveals to the Norhian royal siblings that the war is not over yet and that they must kill Garon to end it, and reveals to them that Garon is no longer human as he has been replaced by a monster and that there's no way to save him, thus killing him is the only option. Corrin prepares to enter the throne room with Azura and their siblings to expose Garon's true form and kill him, but the siblings remain skeptical of how Corrin and Azura even know about Garon's state and why they didn't tell them sooner. Azura cannot tell them because of the curse and says that the only way to reveal the truth is to show them the throne so they can expose Garon's form. This causes more skepticism and Corrin begs and forces their siblings to know the truth about Garon, Xander reluctantly agrees to this, but warns them that if they are lying, they will be executed for treason.

Corrin agrees to this and they all enter the Throne Room. True to their words, a water monster appears before them in a grotesque visage of Garon after sitting on the throne, exposing his true form. Azura reveals to the siblings the real king Garon, a monster. Garon is angered at their "betrayal" and attempts to kill everyone. Dishearten by this, Elise, Camilla and Leo refuse to fight their father, but Xander stops Garon from killing Corrin and states that he is no longer his father and will fight alongside Corrin to kill Garon and encourages his siblings to help Corrin put an end to Garon. Believing in Corrin, the Nohrian siblings turn against Garon and declare his reign is over, and they finally kill Garon for good.

As they celebrate their victory, they are cut short when a possessed Takumi attacks the group, demanding vengeance for the suffering of the Hoshidans and the death of his brother. Corrin is shocked both at Takumi's survival and his possession by an unseen force. They try to tell Takumi that Garon is dead and the war is over, only for him to repeat the words "betrayal" and "death". Azura tells Corrin that Takumi cannot be reasoned with and they must kill him as he is possessed just like Garon was and that he is beyond saving. Corrin volunteers to accept responsibility for their actions and allow Takumi to shoot them. Corrin falls into a near-death state, however, is revived and the combined force faces the possessed Takumi.

Before the battle begins, Azura apologizes for not helping Takumi sooner and overuses the necklace's power against the possessed Takumi, despite knowing full well it would kill her. However, none of the Nohrian siblings and Corrin knew of this, or know what happened to her after the battle. After defeating the force inside of Takumi, Azura vanishes after the battle, most likely dissolving into water. Unlike in Birthright, Azura's death is not shown in this version, but is confirmed missing by the siblings. Corrin later encounters her at a lake like when they first met, before she dissolves into the light after telling them to close their eyes. Azura thanks them for everything, and states they will meet again.

"End of spoilers. It's a pleasure doing business with you!"

Revelation

After Corrin refuses to join a side, a war breaks out between the two nations. Needing a way to catch the attention of Xander and Ryoma, Azura, Corrin, and their retainer Felicia or Jakob fend off the front commanders of both armies. While successful, both Xander and Ryoma take this action as a betrayal by the two. Branded as traitors by both armies, Azura and Corrin are forced to flee the battlefield.

"Just a minute! The following section contains spoilers. Viewing it will cost a lot. Are you prepared to pay for it?"

Labeled as traitors and needing a safe place to escape, Azura takes Corrin and Felicia/Jakob to the Bottomless Canyon. Asking Corrin to trust her, they leap off the bridge into the chasm and an unknown land. Azura then takes Corrin into a cave and explains that they are in the kingdom of Valla, led by King Anankos, who has been orchestrating the war between Hoshido and Nohr. Azura reveals that she is a Vallite princess and is the daughter of the previous king. Additionally, she reveals that she could not tell anyone in the world above of her origins as doing so causes a curse to activate, dissolving the body of anyone who speaks about Valla outside of the realm. Their discussion ends shortly when a Vallite army comes to attack the party. After dispatching most of them, Azura and Corrin flee from Valla and decide that the best course of action is to have both the armies of Hoshido and Nohr join forces to take down the real threat to their countries.

Azura explains that her father and Arete's first husband was the former King of the mysterious realm of Valla, who was murdered by the mad dragon. Arete and a young Azura fled Valla for Nohr, becoming a part of the royal family until Arete's death and Azura's kidnapping.

After a long grueling campaign, Azura and Corrin are successful in recruiting both the Hoshidan and Nohrian armies. As Azura and Corrin lead the combined forces into Valla, a series of tragedies occur, including Azura encountering her mother, Arete, now under Anankos' control as a leader of his forces. Azura resolves herself to be the one to finish her and after several battles, Azura defeats Arete. As Anankos' influence leaves her, Arete expresses pride in the strong individual her daughter has become and fades away, leaving Azura to grieve for her mother once again.

Azura and Corrin continue to lead the combined forces into the Vallite Castle where it is revealed that a member of their forces is a traitor. Just outside the throne room doors, a mysterious spell hits the army save for Azura and Corrin, leading to the others believing that the two had lead them into a trap. However, Gunter slips in his story and reveals that he was the mole all along. Azura and Corrin defeat the Anankos possessed Gunther and Anankos' control over him is expunged. With no one left to fight in his stead, Anankos appears, devours Garon to reclaim his remaining powers, and proceeds to fight Azura, Corrin, and their forces.

Thanks in part to Corrin harnessing the power of Omega Yato, Anankos is slain and peace is restored to all three kingdoms. Azura crowns Corrin as the new ruler of a newly created Valla after the original Valla is sealed up after Anankos' death, serving as their personal advisor. If Azura has obtained an S-Support with male Corrin, she will instead become the new queen of Valla. If she marries Ryoma or Xander, she will become the Queen of Hoshido and Nohr respectively.

"End of spoilers. It's a pleasure doing business with you!"

Epilogue

Regardless of the route chosen in the end, Azura's entire existence is a huge mystery by future scholars and historians. If she is married however, her existence is proven thanks to the records of her marriage to her husband as well as the records of her son, Shigure.

Paralogue

In Paralogue 3, on the ship, Azura is enjoying a view in the middle of the sea. Suddenly, Jakob/Felicia informs her that a young man on a Pegasus has just crashed their ship. Knowing who he is, Azura goes to see her son Shigure, as he escaped from his Deeprealm to find her as he is being chased by Vallites. Azura is surprised to see him here, but he tells her that strange warriors are pursuing him from his Deeprealm. Azura is surprised that they are also targeting him, while Shigure is unaware about his mother's powers and the past. Two large ships broadside theirs in the process. Shigure asks Azura if he may fight so that he may avenge his friends, but Azura refuses to let him and asks him to hide somewhere, much to his disappointment.

After the battle, Azura tells Shigure that she went to his Deeprealm to find the village destroyed and its inhabitants killed. Shigure sings Lost in Thoughts All Alone as a requiem for his fallen friends. He then asks Azura what he should do now, as he now has nobody left except her, to which Azura states she has no choice but to find another place to hide him. Shigure states he doesn't want to hide anymore and tells Azura that he's joining her cause, to which she tells him that he must stay safe; Shigure states that his friends lost their lives trying to save him and he needs to learn to protect himself—he needs to get strong enough so he can make the same sacrifice for others. Azura tells Shigure that he needs to let her protect him when she can, and he cannot deny her that; Shigure states that his heart is singing a song of hope for the future, to which Azura asks that they make it a duet, to which Shigure agrees.

Personality

Serene, calm, and collected, Azura's stoic demeanor serves as a fortress to protect her from others. She has difficulty trusting other people as a result of the hostile Nohrian royal court and the mysterious circumstances behind her departure from her true home. On the surface, she can appear reserved if not aloof as she dislikes speaking more than she has to, though this is partially out of provocation or rejection from others. She can be rather harsh when pushing people away, sometimes hurting their feelings such as with Elise, albeit unintentionally so, but she desires to bond with others in hopes of finding peace.

Said traits were even worse in her youth, as seen with her young variant in Heroes, who believes it is inevitable for her to be mistreated whenever she meets someone, even if said person is amicable, and actively rejects any sort of comfort despite wishing deeply for it as well as wanting to have a sense of belonging. She is well aware of these things, as she does not want this happening to her children, if she is married, and wants them to stay the way they are, rather than have them grow up like her. When she does open up, she proves to have quite the mischievous side, as seen when she teases Sakura by scaring her with ghost stories.

Azura's most meaningful bond is with Corrin as they are the literal counterparts to each other in terms of their circumstances. She feels immensely guilty that all the love she received from Corrin should have rightfully belonged to them. She even tells Ryoma and Hinoka that they no longer need to love her now that their true sibling has returned to them. Both assure her that Corrin's return does not affect the familial bond they share. While still guilt ridden, she becomes far less harsh on herself after these conversations. Likewise, if given the opportunity to bond with he Nohrian siblings, Azura discovers that her real adoptive family had loved her and worried endlessly about her. In turn, Azura feels welcomed and wonders if her life would have truly been bad in Nohr had she not been kidnapped.

Although she can get slightly emotional at times, Azura is kindhearted and surprisingly knowledgeable about many things, some of which others would not know about. This is namely information of Valla, her unique ability to manipulate water through the use of her necklace and a brief history about dragons and degeneration from her mother. Although she is more cynical and world-weary than Corrin, she shares their conviction in trying to make the world a better place and wanting to be with Corrin until the very end of the path to see peace. Normally neat and tidy, she has the worst cases of bed hair in the army and is a restless sleeper. To add some light, she also has a weakness for cute things and enjoys telling scary stories, while in her Support with Xander, it's revealed that she's a bit of a glutton.

Azura is a typical Dancer-like unit in her unique Songstress class, allowing her to reinvigorate one allied unit per turn through her Sing command. Like other units from past games like her, Azura is a fragile unit with low HP, Defense, and Resistance growths, but offset by high Speed, Skill, and Luck growths to help her avoid attacks altogether rather than enduring them. In stark contrast to Dancers from previous games, Azura has a high Strength growth, and can use this to destroy stray enemy units in a pinch. While Azura is generally better off using her song to give units an additional turn, she can still deal reasonable damage as a secondary attacker while in Attack Stance. However, her low Defense and HP makes her fragile to almost any attack and should avoid facing groups of reasonably strong enemies. Due to the fact that her base class does not promote, she is permanently stuck with 5 movement. This can be remedied by teaching her Movement +1 or give her Boots to increase her movement range.

Normally, past units like her were typically recruited mid-game and were extremely fragile due to a low starting level, usually Level 1, and the fact that the enemy Levels were much higher. Azura in both Birthright and Revelations is a part of the player's roster from the very beginning of the route, giving her ample time to keep up offensively with fellow units. She has a bit of a delay rejoining in Conquest, coming in at Chapter 9, about four chapters into the route, though this is not too big of a gap for her to catch up, let alone use her powerful refreshing ability. Additionally, another advantage is the Songstress' weapon choice of Lances, allowing Azura to attack and retaliate to distant enemies. However, Songstress only has a weapon rank cap of C, which will limit her from using more powerful weapons like the Silver Naginata. Finally, her personal skill Healing Descant gives her a two tile heal zone around her that recovers 10% HP to all units within her zone.

Songstress has no promotion, but gains a total of 4 skills in its 40 Level cap. Azura starts off with Luck +4, giving her some respite from enemy critical chances, but will lose usefulness later with better skills from other classes. At level 10, Azura's singing becomes more potent with Inspiring Song which grants a 3 point boost to the Speed, Skill, and Luck of any unit that she sings to. Her final two skills, Voice of Peace and Foreign Princess, gives her two more zone skills that reduce the damage dealt by enemies by two in her two tile zone from the former and a two damage reduction plus a two damage from received ally attacks from the latter. Overall, Azura plays well as a supportive unit and benefits greatly off of tighter gameplay as she can support other units much more easily. She makes an exceptional unit for Rally usage due to the nature of most of her given class skills and especially her personal skill. However, this skill set requires a lot of external help from other player's StreetPass teams or the player's own subsequent playthroughs.

For balancing reasons, both Einherjar and Replicate versions of songstress Azura are unable to use their singing skills to give allies a second turn.

Secondary Class

Azura's secondary class is Sky Knight, which will have a decent head start thanks to her base class' usage of Lances as well as her naturally high Speed and Skill matching this class set's naturally high Skill and Speed as well. As such, if looking for an more offensive oriented Azura, her secondary class provides that option. The Sky Knight's first skill, Darting Blow, is good for an offensive Azura as it will increase her double attack chances when she initiates a battle. The second ability, Camaraderie, syncs well with her zone play by providing herself a 10% HP regen when units are within a two tile radius of her at the start of a turn, though is not nearly as good as Renewal if she can get access to Shrine Maiden from Sakura or marriage with Azama or Corrin with Priest as his secondary. As a Falcon Knight, she gains Rally Speed to boost all allies within two tile range of her with a 4 stat boost upon using the Rally Command and Warding Blow to make her an aggressive anti-mage unit. As a Kinshi Knight, she gains Air Superiority to avoid aerial units, but Amaterasu gives her zone play the largest regen boost by giving her turn heals an additional 20% HP, giving her a 30% HP recovery for all allies in her zone each turn in tandem with her personal skill. If planning to have Azura stay as a Songstress by the endgame, it is recommended that she gains the desired skills from whatever classes they belong to as soon and as quickly as possible.

Friendship Class

Azura gains a Friendship Class from Elise and Sakura:

  • Elise: Elise provides her with Troubadour. Notably, she will gain Demoiselle first as another zone skill to aid male units in her zone with a nice 2 damage reduction. Strategist gives her Inspiration which is basically another Foreign Princess skill, but not limited to "Foreign Army" units. Additionally, Rally Resistance is provided by this class for those seeking a Rally Azura. Maid gives her mainly Tomebreaker to avoid Tome/Spell damage and Live to Serve if keeping Azura in this healing class is more what the player desires.
  • Sakura: Sakura provides her with Shrine Maiden. Her base class provides Miracle which could save her in case she is hit by a deadly blow. Rally Luck can be obtained from this class as well. Onmyoji provides Rally Magic and is essentially the only useful skill from the class if planning on keeping Azura as a songstress. As a Priestess, she gains Renewal, which is a much more suitable self-recovery skill than Camaraderie since it heals her 30% and does not require her to be around other allied units to activate it. Countermagic is worth considering given her fragile nature and can dish back magic damage taken if needed, resulting in high counter damage.
Marriage Class
  • Corrin: Azura can access whatever secondary class Corrin is assigned. However, she can only gain access to Oni Savage, Apothecary, Wyvern Rider and Spear Fighter if Corrin has these classes as his secondary class. All classes increase her Strength and Defense growths by 10-20% and keeps most of her other stat growths roughly the same, greatly increasing durability if enough time is invested in leveling her up while in these classes as well as having skills that can really make a difference if Azura is to be kept as a Songstress.
    • Spear Fighter is of particular note, as it provides her with Swap, which allows her to retreat behind friendly units when necessary, useful when she is a Songstress, and the class utilizes Lances, which is Azura's main choice of weapon, meaning that you do not have to worry with adjusting to a different weapon type in this class. Seal Defense is also useful so that if an enemy attacks her, another unit can pick off that enemy due to having its stats reduced. Azura's promotion options while she is a Spear Fighter are Spear Master and Basara. The former is no different in terms of growth rates and offers Seal Speed, to help prevent most enemy units from doubling her, and Lancefaire, which adds additional Strength to her if she is using a Lance. The latter isn't as useful for growth, but it does however offer Rend Heaven, which adds half of the enemy's Strength/Magic to her own when activated, and Quixotic, increasing the enemies' as well as her skill activation rate which is incredibly risky due to Azura's lacking Defense growths. With enough patience (and possibly the Boo Camp DLC) one can have Azura gain all the skills from Spear Fighter, Spear Master and Rend Heaven from Basara so that she may have several offensive option if she is being attacked and can counter said attack with efficiency as well as keeping her Lances handy.
    • Oni Savage trades Azura's Skill and Luck growths for higher Strength, Defense and Magic. Apart from switching Lances for Clubs, this class has its benefits such as its skills, Seal Resistance and Shove, and more offence orientated stat growths. Oni Chieftain is a good choice for promotion if one plans on doing so, as it offers an additional Magic growth while keeping stat growth mostly the same. Death Blow and Counter are good skills for Azura to have, as the former increases her Critical Hit rate if she starts the battle and the latter is handy for repelling attackers considering Azura's shaky Defense. Blacksmith, on the other hand, gives Azura her Speed, Skill and Luck growths back while keeping some of her offensive growth rates. With Salvage Blow in hand, there is the chance that Azura can collect lots of Iron weaponry due to her high Luck and Lancebreaker can help in avoiding powerful Lances when up against an enemy in possession of one. Overall, Oni Savage and its promotions offer lots of offensive options for Azura, however her Defense may still be below par at best if she spends time in this class line.
    • Wyvern Rider has a balance in advantages and disadvantages; it has excellent stat growths in everything but Resistance and is weak against bows, yumis, the Tome Excalibur and dragon-slayer weapons, which includes all incarnations of Falchion, the Wyrmslayer and the Dragon Spirit. However, this class and its promotions give great stats and skills to those who are patient. The Wyvern Rider's skills are Strength +2, which is a short term remedy for Azura's low Strength, and Lunge, useful for getting out of sticky situations. Malig Knight, one of the Wyvern Rider's promotions, gives a good balance of growth across the board and allows the use of Tomes for Azura to tap into her Magic for offensive purposes. Savage Blow can help in her area skill play as the skill removes 20% of any nearby enemy's max HP. Since most enemies throughout the story are unmounted, Trample can be helpful when against anyone without a mount should the need arise. Wyvern Lord can be a good class for Azura to gain some good Defense options and also utilizes Lances as a secondary weapon. Rally Defense can be a good skill for use in Rally play when combined with Rally Luck, Rally Magic, Rally Resistance and Rally Speed if playing on Revelation. Swordbreaker can be a good skill to have when avoiding combat and powerful swords altogether. Despite the weaknesses it comes with, the Wyvern Rider class may give way to a sturdier and stronger version of Azura.
    • Apothecary can be considered a risky option if one decides to have Azura reclass. This is due to Apothecary using yumis, which do not allow their users to retaliate against adjacent foes. On the other hand, Apothecary has great growths in categories that Azura is lacking in and offers Potent Potion and Quick Salve, skills that make healing items more efficient when equipped. Merchant is a good offense class that Azura can use to weaponize her high Luck and a good class for her to reuse Lances. Profiteer allows Azura to gain Gold Bars using her high Luck and Spendthrift gives her the ability to spend Gold Bars for a one-battle boost that increases damage dealt and decreases damage received by 10, which can be potentially life saving considering Azura's shaky Defense growths. Mechanist is a questionable reclass option for Azura, as the class has low stat growths across the board and offers no useful skills for her whatsoever. The class uses yumi and Shurikens, leaving Azura better off as a different class because of her low Strength - leaving her shurikens with no damage output due to their low Might and her low Strength - and the class' skills, Replicate and Golembane, are mostly useless. This is due to Azura's low Defense and the fact that replica Songstresses are incapable of Singing. If a class change to Apothecary is in mind, it should be a temporary one that happens after reaching level 30 or 35 so that she may grab all Merchant skills and stats for future purposes.

Base Set

Azura was one of two units who could Dance, or in her case Sing, at the launch of Heroes. While Olivia was far easier to acquire, Azura has held a distinction as the sole Lance Dancer of the entire cast that can be regularly pulled during Banners as most other non-seasonal Dancers are either Swords or Dagger units while the other two Lance dancers, Soiree Berkut and Soiree Eldigan, are a seasonal banner exclusive and Grail unit respectively. Azura has a modest 33 Spd and 31 Atk which can let her deal some damage, but her Book I stat spread leaves her lagging behind the many modern units introduced long after her. Nonetheless, due to the sheer power of Singing, even though there are more powerful variants, some of which are held by her other forms, Azura is a powerful ally. She is easily helped with her Resplendent form, and thus has a decent boost to give her a modest performance, even if she does not reach the same level as her competitors.
Azura is lacking in her base kit. Her default lance is the Sapphire Lance, which bolsters her color advantage over Reds. Spd +3 gives a flat boost to her Spd. While it does boost her neutral Spd to 36, it hardly affects her performance as a whole other than potentially stopping double attacks from a few more units. Fortify Resistance gives her adjacent allies a +4 Res boost if they start their turn next to her. This can help save them from attacks from Mages, Staves, and Dragons, but it is another marginal change to some of them.

Counters

As a Singer, Azura's base stat total is lower than most other units in the game. Even when not taking Sapphire Lance+ into account, she stands little chance against Greens of any sort and most Blues dispose of her easily if she is left in vulnerable range. She can only stay relatively safe in the range of some Reds, but for the most part, Azura would rather avoid conflict as much as possible and leave combat to more capable units. She is also vulnerable to Bridal Fjorm and Mila, who can easily disable her Dance command.

Skill Inheritance Options

Azura ideally should take the standard Dancer build as a base to work from. This includes Moonbow for a fast charging special to give her a little more sting to her attacks if needed, Fury or either Fortress Defense/Fortress Resistance to give her better stats for suvivability, Wings of Mercy which lets her teleport around the map to injured allies and help them move away/clean up where they are, and Drive Attack/Drive Speed for ally support during combat.
Azura's weapon is replacable and most commonly is given the Wagasa to reduce the Def of the foe with the highest Def by 7. Azura can make great usage of the Arcane Qiang since it accelerates her special activations, gives her a boost in stats during combat, and gives her Null Follow-Up and Guard. Other worthwhile Lances include Slaying Spear, Shellpoint Lance, and Protection Pike.
If more premium skills are available, Fortress Defense Resistance together gives her better mixed bulk with a slightly less Atk drop, which for the most part is moot since Azura should ideally avoid combat as much as possible. She can also consider B Duel Infantry for the Arena score boost if she does not have high merges and investment. If Azura's Res is high enough, she can consider the likes of Sabotage skills, namely the Atk or Spd variants for overall better team support. Various Dance enhancing skills like the Cantrips and Stat Dance skills work wonderfully on her to give her dances more potentcy. Skill C can include the likes of Joint Drive skills, Cross Spurs, and even Ploy skills give her solid Res stats for more indirect support during combat.

Dressed in the Conquest opera house garb, Performing Arts Azura is near identical to her base form, having only a one point decrease to her HP and Def in exchange for a one point increase to her Atk and Spd. As such, Performing Arts Azura remains a powerful dueling Singer, but not strong enough to be able to outright perform as a direct combat oriented unit when compared to most of her fellow Book I units and the scores of units introduced since. Her main distinction is that she is the first Dancer to have a unique weapon, and up until Ascended Peony, was the only one with a unique weapon.
Her biggest perk is her own personal weapon Urðr which allows her refreshing ability to also be a 3 point buff to all stats, except for HP, to any ally she Sings for. It does, however, mean that Performing Arts Azura's supporting comes at its strongest after she sings. Nevertheless, Performing Arts Azura is a powerful ally and worth the effort to obtain, especially if she is paired with a Blade Tome user who appreciates the stat buffs even if it is delayed.
Performing Arts Azura comes with Triangle Adept 3, which solidifies herself as a Blue counter. Drive Resistance is a serviceable support skill to assist allies in combat.

Counters

As a Singer, Performing Arts Azura's base stat total is lower than most other units in Heroes. Her preference of Axes means that she is vulnerable to the huge Red pool and thus needs units on her team to address them. Otherwise, on her own, she is subject to the standard Red and Green threats in the game. Bridal Fjorm's Gjallarbrú disables her refreshing skill as Bridal Fjorm is guaranteed to hit her HP threshold over Performing Arts Azura.

Skill Inheritance Options

Performing Arts Azura essentially functions the same as her base form and can take the same skills.
If more premium skills are available, Fortress Defense Resistance together gives her better mixed bulk with a slightly less Atk drop, which for the most part is moot since Azura should ideally avoid combat as much as possible. She can also consider G Duel Infantry for the Arena score boost if she does not have high merges and investment. If Performing Arts Azura's Res is high enough, she can consider the likes of Sabotage skills, namely the Atk or Spd variants for overall better team support. Various Dance enhancing skills like the Cantrips and Stat Dance skills work wonderfully on her to give her dances more potentcy. New Year Azura is the first Flying Dancer and the first playable Pegasus Axe user introduced to Heroes. Her existence opened up a huge amount of new tactics and team compositions thanks in part to the support she can give as a Singer and Flyer. Her Spd remains consistent with her other forms and she has respectable Res as well.
Sing is still a valuable supportive skill like all of her other forms, but now without the restrictions of terrain. New Year Azura's base weapon is the Hagoita+, boosting the Def/Res of all allies within two spaces of her by 2. It can be Refined to give it a stat boost.
She has Earth Dance, boosting the Def of allies she dances to by 5. She also has Hone Fliers giving her flying allies a stat buff when they are adjacent to her at the start of the player turn. While New Year Azura can find a place on any team, she shines best as a supportive Flyer with her base skill set.

Counters

New Year Azura is purely built to support even in her new aerial form. She stands little chance on her own against the numerous Reds and strong Greens. Even some properly built bulky Blues can counter her effectively. Finally, as a Flyer, Archers easily shoot her down with little effort. Bridal Fjorm's Gjallarbrú disables her refreshing skill as Bridal Fjorm is guaranteed to hit her HP threshold over New Year Azura.

Skill Inheritance Options

New Year Azura can take a standard dancer build but with some extra tricks from Infantry Dancers due to her Flying status. Moonbow, Fury or Fortress Defense/Fortress Resistance, Wings of Mercy, and Drive skills give her a modest budget ground to launch from.
She can take the combined Fortress Defense Resistance for the stronger combined bulk or Green Duel Flying for Arena Duel scoring. Aerobatics or Flier Formation gives her excellent mobility on more focused teams without needing to rely on damage thresholds on her allies. Her Skill C stil includes the likes of Drive and Cross Spurs for support, but she can also include Flier skills like Guidance, Flier Guidance, and Hold skills.

Adrift Azura is the first Tempest Trial Dancer and is thus the easiest form of Azura to acquire. She is the sole Green Tome Infantry Dancer of the cast that is not a limited summon, increasing her value as an immediately useful unit for diversity. Adrift Azura does carry the standard stat downsides of a Dancer with a mediocre 33 Atk and 29 Spd for minor offense and extremely low 53 physical and 61 magical bulk. As such, Adrift Azura is extraordinarily vulnerable and should only be used as clean-up if needed outside of her dancer duties. Because of her Sing ability, Young Azura still remains a powerful utility and support unit by transfering her action onto better units.
Book of Shadows grants Adrift Azura an innate +3 Spd increase. If she is adjacent to an ally, she inflicts a -4 penalty to her foe during combat, giving her a little more help if she is forced into combat.
Speed Resistance Bond grants her Spd/Res+5 if she is adjacent to an ally during combat. Torrent Dance gives an ally Res+5 if she sings to them.

Counters

While a mage dancer is a rare niche, being a refresher, a mage, and a free unit all at once comes at the cost of Adrift Azura's statline, having the same BST as Performing Inigo despite releasing over a year later. This makes her far too weak statwise to be used primarily for offense as she can barely inflict damage on some foes with high enough bulk and especially if they have color advantage over her. Her low mixed bulk means that any foe that can either initiate or retaliate against her will often destroy her with a single attack, if not with their follow-up given her low Spd. Adrift Azura should be protected at all costs and avoid combat as much as possible. Also noteworthy is that she is vulnerable to Mila and Bridal Fjorm's【Isolation】penalty, which will disable her Sing support.

Skill Inheritance Options

Adrift Azura can take the standard Dancer set up of inheriting Moonbow for her special, Fury for its stat increase, Wings of Mercy to teleport to injured allies, and a wide variety of support skills for Skill C, namely Drive Skills. However, she can maintain her Spd/Res Bond rather than replace it with Fury to sync with her personal weapon or choose another Bond skill if desired.
Adrift Azura can increase her overall bulk by just taking Fort. Def/Res at the cost of her drop to her Atk if it means she can potentially survive an attack or G Duel Infantry for Arena Scoring and the stat boost at tier 4. She can also consider other Attack Speed Bond or Attack Speed Unity instead of her innate Speed/Resistance variant as her strongest stats are Atk and Spd. It also keeps its sync with her Book of Shadows. Fourth Tier Element Dance skills or Cantrips can give her allies support whenever she dances. Joint Drives and Cross Spurs also give her more support capabilities during combat for her allies.
Full offensive investment isn't recommended for so old a unit, but if the player so desires, Adrift Azura is a viable option for Arcane/Attuned Inheritance as she has no unique skills to disable. Arc. Caliburnus and Arcane Truthfire are very powerful tomes, and the warp-friendly Echo Skills like Mercy-Wing Echo and Attack Oath Echo greatly broaden her passive options as an Infantry Mage without hindering her support role. Flare is the recommended Special if going this route as both Arcane tomes reduce Special cooldown dramatically for rapid activations, though her statline, while small, can have its Resistance pushed high enough to make use of Frost Moon and the various Sabotage and Ploy skills. Such investment is expensive, but if the player finds themselves gravitating towards Adrift Azura often as a quick and dirty Dancer and Mage, it's worth a consideration given how easy she is to build and merge.
If Green Tome Valor is available, giving it to her helps give Green Tome allies the SP gain increase when training.

Legendary Azura is the first and currently only Legendary Dancer, giving her a unique niche when used during Water Seasons where her Res boost to water blessed allies comes into play. She is a Blue Tome Flyer who by nature has one of the best flexible usages on any team due to the sheer power of her status as a Dancer unit and by possessing a unique dance skill.
What separates Legendary Azura from all other Refresher units is her Sing ability which has been upgraded to Gray Waves. Not only can she renew an ally, but if that ally is an Infantry or Flyer, they gain one additional movement range, extending it to three spaces. While useful, it can be awkward as she herself does not have any means to catch up if she uses it, but the additional range is more of a benefit than anything. Upon her Legendary Remix, it upgraded to Gray Waves II, adding 【Null Panic】to an ally she dances to, removing their Panic status.
Her Legendary Weapon, Prayer Wheel, takes the highest visible stat boost on an ally she sings for and applies it to all four core stats, thus if an ally received a Hone Atk 4 buff, all of their stats receive the +7 bonus rather than their Atk alone, thus potentially having the highest buffs of all units available. Its weapon refine grants allies within two spaces of her a guaranteed +6 Spd to help fuel the baseline effect of spreading stat buffs. During combat involving Legendary Azura, if she has at least 25% HP at the start of combat, she gains an additional +5 Atk/Spd and also gains a Triangle Adept effect to give her a significant boost, mainly when having to be used against Reds in particular.
Legendary Azura introduced Blue Duel Flying, increasing her Arena scoring by 26 points, which allows her to score higher than her BST suggests. With her later Remix, she gained Attack Speed Push at its fourth tier, granting her +7 Atk/Spd if she is above 25% at the start of combat, while suffering 5 non-lethal recoil damage after combat. Aerobatics allows her to reposition herself behind an ally near her when needing to refresh. Finally Atk Tactic provides a 6+ Atk boost to allies near her, so long as she is on a mixed team and fulfills the requirements.

Counters

Legendary Azura on her own is very weak defensively and most common offensive units who are able to approach her or simply destroy her allies can take care of her with little effort. Her flying weaknesses also leaves her vulnerable to Bows as well. Bridal Fjorm's Gjallarbrú disables her refreshing skill as Bridal Fjorm is guaranteed to hit her HP threshold over Legendary Azura for its effects, thus removing her greatest asset.

Skill Inheritance Options

Legendary Azura can take the standard refresher set by inheriting Moonbow for damage, Fury for stat boosts, Wings of Mercy to teleport to any ally if they are critically injured, and some supportive skill that has a visible buff so she can maximize her usage of Prayer Wheel. If playing her on a Flying team, Hone Fliers is great while a mixed team can maintain either Atk Tactic so long as the requirements are met or any Hone skill to bring out Prayer Wheel's effect. Guidance or Ground Orders also work wonders in maintaining her supportive role and proving unique positioning/movement options for allies.

Base Set

Hatari Azura is accompanied by Leanne from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, making her a Harmonic Green Tome Cavalry valuable for usage in Resonant Battles during appropriate seasons. Outside of that mode, she is still a powerful utility unit because she is still a Dancer and the second Cavalry Dancer. At 37 Atk and 39 Spd, she has surprisingly solid offenses for a Dancer and can perform solidly when needing to be used offensively in a pinch. Her mixed bulk suffers as a result of her offenses as her 53 physical and 60 bulk leaves her vulnerable to a host of units who are able to attack her first. Nonetheless, a combination of massive movement, Dancer utilities, and strong skill effects that synergize with this role means that she has a long lasting staying power in the meta.
Dancing Flames grants Hatari Azura an innate extra Atk+3 on its base 14 Mt, giving her a neutral base 54 Atk. If she uses her Sing variation, she grants her adjacent allies a +6 boost to their core stats for one turn. If she has at least 25% of her HP at the start of combat, she also gains Atk/Spd+6 during combat. Hatari Azura can hit hard and provide excellent support for her allies as a result, making her a great support unit.
Her Harmonic Skill grants【Resonance: Blades】, which gives Atk/Spd+4 to herself and allies who come from Fire Emblem Fates or Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It also grants the ally with the highest HP within two spaces of her an extra turn so long as they are from the same title as her and does not posess Dance or Sing themselves.
Gray Waves, from her Legendary variation, works as an enhanced Dance which gives the ally she sang to an aditional movement space after being refreshed.
Fury at its fourth tier gives her an innate +4 to all of her four core stats but deals 8 non-lethal damage to her after combat. Speed Resistance Far Trace enables【Canto (Rem.)】, allowing Hatari Azura to utilize any remaining movement after she either attacks, Sings, or destroys a structure. It also inflicts Spd/Res-3 to her foe during combat. Cross Spur Resistance grants Res+5 to all of her allies within the cardinal directions of where she is presently positioned.

Counters

Hatari Azura's mixed bulk is low, even with the help of her innate Fury 4 skill and has no means of counterattacking melee foes, as such, most offensive units can simply rush her and initiate on her, removing a vast majority of her offensive pressure. She can also be easily targeted by【Isolation】since neither of her HP nor Def can avoid it from Bridal Fjorm and Mila respectively.

Skill Inheritance

Hatari Azura has a complete kit with only her Special empty, thus Moonbow is a solid option to partially bypass enemy Res or Glimmer if she can get enough stat buffs to increase the damage. None of her skills particularly need replacing, though Cross Spur has other stat variations, so giving her other variations expands her repitoire if desired.

Garbed in clothing reminiscent of her fated ally Corrin, Attuned Azura continues the tradition of making Azura a powerful dance ally through her unique Sing abilities. Sitting on a massive 45 Atk and 46 Spd, despite her dancing status, Attuned Azura can be used as a powerful offensive unit in general with the trade off being her relatively low mixed bulk of 56 physical and 66 magical. However, this is far from a detriment from her overall performance as her sheer value as a Singer makes her potent by that alone, but she carries other valuable assets within her native kit alone that makes her a force in battle in more ways than one.
Tri-Path Splitter is her unique weapon and carries a slew of abilities starting with an innate +3 to her Spd and 【Canto (Dist. +1; Max 4】, letting her move the number of spaces equal to how many she moved prior to either attacking, using her support skills, or destroying a structure with one additional space added. If she is within two spaces of an ally at the start of her turn, she gains a visible Atk/Spd+6 buff for herself and both【Null Follow-Up】and【Null Panic】for herself and her allies. Finally, if she is within 3 spaces of an ally, she gains +5 to her four core stats during combat.
Her unique dance is Changing Waters which functions like Gray Waves, granting her ally another turn of action plus an additional space of movement for non-cavalry units. All allied units within two spaces of her target also gains【Incited】, granting bonuses to their four core stats depending on the number of spaces moved, maximizing at 3. Azura herself does not receive this bonus however.
Her Attuned skill Mercy-Wing Echo gives her Wings of Mercy at all times, allowing her to warp to a space adjacent to an ally whose HP is at most 50% of their maximum. This is extremely valuable as Wings of Mercy is a common skill for all Dancers to take for movement and rescuing/repositioning allies, but also frees her innate Skill B slot for other skills.
Firestorm Boost 3 gives her an innate HP+5. If she has at least 50% of her HP at the start of combat, she gains an even further Atk/Spd+7 and if she is within two spaces of an ally with at least 50%, she slows her opponent's special cooldown charge per attack. Attack Defense Cantrip inflicts Atk/Def-7 and【Sabotage】on foes within the four cardinal directions of Attuned Azura and her Song target. Cross Spur Attack grants Atk+5 to all allies within her cardinal directions during combat.

Counters

Attuned Azura lacks any damage mitigation effects in her kit and thus will take huge damage if she is initiated upon or, if by sheer bulk, her foe can withstand her attack. She is especially vulnerable to the likes of Micaiah and other Cavalry slaying weapons. It is possible for Attuned Azura to dodge【Isolation】from a Bridal Fjorm, but even with maximum investment and concentration on her physical bulk, she is unlikely to avoid it from Mila.

Skill Inheritance

Attuned Azura's only empty skill is her Special Skill which Glimmer fills in nicely due to her enormous offensive stats and stats.
As an Attuned Hero, Attuned Azura also makes for a valuable funnel for premium skills since she is technically reusible the more copies of her are obtained. She has the niche of transfering Dance and Cavalry exclusive skills alongside her Attuned Skill, giving her a great, wide range of applicable skills to transfer from Far Trace skills and Elemental Dances even if she may not use them in her main builds.

The fates that Azura and Corrin experienced are almost like mirror images of each other. I'm sure that the bond the two share will shine the way to a brighter future!

Etymology

Azura comes from the word azure, a shade of blue.

Aqua, her name in the Japanese version, is the Latin word for water. It is also a greenish-blue color.

Trivia

  • Azura and Scarlet are the only playable characters who die in multiple routes of the story. Revelation is the only route where she survives throughout the entire game.
  • Azura has two different voice actresses in Japanese: her normal voice actress is Lynn while her singing voice is provided by Renka. This has been seen in previous Fire Emblem games when other characters had to sing (like Ashunera and Sephiran in Radiant Dawn and possibly Micaiah).
  • Despite Azura being considered the deuteragonist, the development team actually considers her to be the main protagonist just as much as they do Corrin. In the West, conversely, Corrin is instead mainly considered to be the protagonist due to them being meant to be the visual reflection of the player, resulting in the level of control and customization for them to be much higher.
  • Azura's official artwork and portraits depict her wielding the Blessed Lance.
    • The Blessed Lance is also used as her personal weapon in Warriors.
  • Azura placed 5th most popular female character in the official character popularity poll held on the game's official site.
    • Azura placed in the top ten of the Famitsu Popularity Poll at 8th place, and 1st place in the top ten married poll as well.
    • Azura came in 8th for females in the Fire Emblem Heroes Choose Your Legends popularity poll. She had 14,198 total votes.
  • Azura's birthday, March 3, falls under the sign Pisces and evokes the element of water. Under the Sidereal zodiac, her date of birth corresponds to Aquarius or "the Water Bearer". It is also the same day as Hinamatsuri or Girls' Day.
  • Azura is the only character whose supports with Corrin change depending on the path chosen. This also changes what her confession quotes are as well.
  • In the Heirs of Fate DLC, her portrait is altered to where she is not wearing her pendant, while Shigure's is also changed to where he instead is wearing it.
  • Azura has several unique distinction in Fates:
    • She is the only playable character other than Corrin that is required to be used in more than one Chapter, being required for The Black Pillar and Surprise Duet.
    • Azura is the only potential mother who will always be the mother of two children as all of her potential husbands have children of their own.
    • Azura is the only royal member who does not have any retainers.
    • Azura is the only one besides Corrin to have a battle quote against the Hoshidian siblings.
  • Out all of the siblings in Hoshido and Nohr, Camilla is the only one who Azura cannot support with in Fates.
  • Azura (Happy New Year!) is the winner of the 10th Voting Gauntlet (Winter Festival vs. New Year's) and the 19th Voting Gauntlet (New Year's Showdown) in Heroes, thus making her one of two Characters who have won multiple Voting Gauntlets, a trait she shares with Tharja.
  • Azura (Happy New Year!) is the first Alt to win multiple Voting Gauntlets.
  • Azura is the first Resplendent Hero in Fire Emblem Heroes without a character-exclusive weapon.
