Tanya

“Who're you calling a kid!? You're the kid! Fine, I'm going. I never wanted to come here anyway. Hmph!”
—Tanya to Osian

Tanya is a playable character from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. The eighteen-year-old daughter of Dagdar, she is a tomboy who grew up among brigands. She shares a close bond with Osian.

Profile

Tanya first appears in Chapter 1, where she, along with Dagdar and Marty, takes up arms to assist Eyvel in quelling Raydrik's invasion of Fiana.

Tanya, along with the rest of the Freeblades of Fiana, is later separated from Leif and Eyvel in Chapter 3, as the prince is captured by Raydrik.

After Leif is reunited with the Freeblades of Fiana, he storms Dagdar's mansion in Chapter 8x, where he finds Tanya and Dagdar overwhelmed by the bandits under the treacherous Gomes' command. Tanya is reunited with Osian in this chapter, where, despite getting angry over his insensitive way of expressing concern for her, cries in his arms.

Tanya then goes on to continue supporting Leif in his cause to liberate Northern Thracia from the Grannvale Empire. She will move to Fiana thereafter, where she gets married and is blessed with many children. Although her husband is not named, it is heavily implied that he is Osian due to the similarity of their endings.

Personality

Having grown up among bandits all her life, Tanya is tomboyish by nature, both in dress and in speech. She is also known to have a short temper, as can be seen when she gets easily incensed when Osian tactlessly calls her a 'kid' in Chapter 1 and an 'idiot' in Chapter 8x.

Despite Osian's crudeness, it is clear that Tanya has strong feelings for him. While she gets angry with him for calling her an 'idiot' in Chapter 8x, this stems from her being hurt by his careless disregard of her feelings. She makes this obvious by calling him out for it, telling him that he could stand to be "a little... kinder".

Overall

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

In a game where even mediocre units can find a niche, Tanya struggles to stand out. As an archer, she’s completely outclassed—not only by Dagdar, who barely uses bows, but also by Ronan, who joins just a chapter later with better movement growth and Bow EXP. Tanya, by contrast, requires too much investment for too little payoff.

Her one saving grace is her support bonuses with Osian and Dagdar. While her damage output is unimpressive, she can slightly boost Dagdar’s accuracy in Chapters 8x and 11, which is occasionally useful.

Ultimately, Tanya is not worth long-term investment. Outside of minor early-game contributions, she’s easily phased out for better units.

Meet Some of the Heroes

Dagdar's Kid Tanya
Tanya is an archer from Mount Violdrake, on the peninsula of Thracia. She might seem aggressive at times, and she can be quite harsh with her words, but she's sincere and earnest where it counts!
Her father, Dagdar, was once the leader of the bandits of Mount Violdrake, but he mended his ways after being straightened out by Eyvel, the leader of the village of Fiana. In fact, he and Eyvel became friends!
Tanya also grew close to the people of Fiana. Well, it's true that she and Osian do bicker like children, but if you ask me, you have to be pretty close to get under someone's skin like that. It's...complicated.
When Fiana was attacked by soldiers from Grannvale, Tanya joined her father in helping to save the village. She's driven to do the right thing, and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on her!
Closely Associated Characters

Ending

Tanya - The Daughter Whom Dagdar Loved (ダグダの愛した娘, Daguda no aishita musume)
After moving to Fiana, Tanya married, and was blessed with many children. Owing to her honest and open-hearted nature, she quickly became a busybody, albeit a well-intentioned one. She made it her business to help everyone, and over time, the villagers came to rely on her just as they would a relative.
