—Clanne to Alear.
Clanne is a playable character from Fire Emblem Engage.
Profile
Clanne is a 33rd generation Steward of the Dragon alongside his twin sister Framme, protecting the Divine Dragon in the Holy Land of Lythos. He is currently being trained by his predecessor Vander.
Personality
Clanne is a gentle boy who is honored by his role as a steward for Alear. He shares his devotion to the Divine Dragon with his twin sister Framme, being the self-appointed co-president of the Divine Dragon Club. Clanne is often starstruck by the littlest things that Alear does. Gentle and modest, he keeps a much more polite front when expressing his excitement and pride in his role as their steward compared to Framme.
Despite his prestigious position, Clanne is often frustrated by the seemingly mundane tasks he is given by Vander. However, after a heart-to-heart with him about the importance of such tasks as well as his faith in Clanne, Clanne redoubles his efforts and takes such assignments with much more import and eagerness.
As a side hobby, Clanne loves pickling with positive receptions from Etie, Zelkov, and Veyle.

Clanne is a Mage-type character and the first one available to the player. He has good bases in Dexterity and Speed and reasonable Magic and Luck, letting him perform Follow-Up Attacks on a number of enemies early in the game, particularly Armors that would otherwise be difficult to take down for most units. Despite his initial class, however, his growth rates do not suggest long-term prospects in a magic-based role, as his poor 10% Magic growth means he must rely on regular double-attacks and high might tomes to deal major damage. His growth rates in Strength, Dexterity, Defense and especially Speed are still reasonable, however, so he can remain a viable unit long-term if given enough support.
For classes, Clanne is typically kept in the mage role despite his low Magic growth, as by the time Second Seals become available, he will usually have several levels already under Mage growths, which are magic-weighted. Sage or Mage Knight are his two natural paths, the former giving him the highest Magic growth he can obtain along with wielding staffs, while the latter allows him to wield a secondary weapon and make use of his Strength. If he is reclassed to a physical attacker, his low HP and middling strength naturally encourages ranged classes that enhance his Strength growth while benefiting from his good speed and accuracy; classes such as Warrior, Sniper and Bow Knight can be strong choices.
His Personal Skill, Verdant Faith, grants both him and Alear +10 Hit during combat if they are adjacent to each other. This can be beneficial for himself when using low-accuracy weapons such as axes, if he is reclassed to use them, but otherwise is of generally niche use.
Clanne has potential with a few Emblem Rings: the Ring of the Caring Princess can be viable early on for its bonus effects against Corrupted foes, and the Ring of the Dawn Maiden can also be utilized early with his passable Magic. If he is later reclassed to a physical attacker, he can also make use of the Ring of the Lady of the Plains for Alacrity, or the Ring of the Young Lion for its boosts to Strength and HP.
Overall, Clanne is a solid early game unit that performs his job as a Mage reasonably well for the first few chapters, but unless notable investment potentially including a class change is granted to him to allow him to continue to scale into the mid game and beyond, he is likely to be benched for other early Mages that join some time after him, such as Céline, Citrinne, and potentially Anna.
