Flare

Flare is a skill that debuted in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.

History in the Series

It has the effect of halving the enemy's Resistance in Path of Radiance, while in Radiant Dawn, it negates the enemy's Resistance altogether, alongside recovering HP equal to the damage done to the enemy.

In Path of Radiance, the skill is the Occult skill of the Sage and Bishop classes, while in Radiant Dawn, it is automatically equipped and locked to the Archsage, Empress, and Summoner classes.

In Radiant Dawn, because of its defense-lowering and healing capabilities, it is often compared to Aether.

In Warriors: Three Hopes, Flare is more similar to how it functioned in Path of Radiance, again reducing enemy Resistance by a certain amount without any healing capabilities. This time, however, the reduction of the enemy's resistance is proportional to the unit's Luck.

In Fire Emblem Engage, when a unit is engaged with Emblem Soren, Flare inflicts Res-20% on the foe and recovers 50% of the damage dealt when the unit attacks with a tome. The skill has additional effects depending on the user's Battle Style:

• Dragon: Critical hit rate doubled.
• Mystical: Extra -10% to foe's Res.
• Qi Adept: Unit recovers 100% of damage dealt instead.
