Sommie is an animal that appears in Fire Emblem Engage. It resides at the Shrine in the Somniel's Grotto. The player can change Sommie's name and customize it.
Profile
Sommie is the guardian spirit of the Somniel, and has resided on it long before it was discovered. Queen Lumera bonded with it, becoming its companion. Later, when Alear began using the Somniel as their base of operations, it bonded with them as well.
Personality
Sommie is a peaceful, playful creature that will follow Alear all over the Sominel once befriended. It prefers to eat fruits, vegetables, and fish. Of unknown age and perhaps as old as the Somniel itself, Sommie doesn't appear to understand the concept of death, but dislikes that all of its friends eventually disappear from its life.
In-Game
Sommie can be interacted with while Alear explores the Somniel. The Grotto houses a pedestal where it can be fed, pet, or have its cosmetics changed. Alear can do these once per visit between battles to earn Bond Fragments. In addition, the first time they interact with Sommie under these options per visit increases its affection, allowing it to participate in various activities in the Somniel from Fishing to Strength Training. Sommie can also follow Alear around the Somniel, the only exceptions being Alear's Bedroom and the Arena.
When Sommie's affection is at its maximum, a new page will be available for it in the Ally Notebook. Sommie's affection also adds additional things to collect while exploring the Somniel, such as Bond Fragments and Rare Fish.
Etymology
Sommie's Japanese name, Sora, is the Japanese word for 'sky'.
