Veyle is the youngest child of Sombron and an unnamed Mage Dragon. As the youngest of Sombron's children, she was the only one not to have fought in his war for the Emblem Rings. She had very few interactions with her other siblings as a result as most had perished during the war before she could meet them. The sole exception was her older sibling Alear, whom she had met only once. Veyle bonded with Alear and as a memento to make her feel safe, they gave her their Dragonstone before returning to Sombron's service. Despite rumors that Alear had perished, Veyle was unconvinced as their dragonstone remained intact, a sign that they still lived.
Veyle was primarily raised by her mother, though she was killed by humans when they discovered that she was one of Sombron's mates. Sombron would later be sealed by the Divine Dragons shortly after. Left alone, Veyle remained in hiding due to the potential scorn she would receive as his child. A sect of Fell Dragon worshipers found her and placed her in a hidden temple where she slept for centuries. The Divine Dragon's Pilgrimage
Veyle is first encountered shortly after the battle at Florra Mill Town where Alear is ambushed by a Corrupted. She appears and slays the Corrupted. Grateful for her rescue, Alear gives her their name and she introduces herself as well. She tells them that she is looking for someone, but declines to travel with them as she has somewhere else to go and the two part ways.

To bind her loyalty to Sombron, Veyle is fitted with an enchanted helmet that amplifies Zephia's mind control spell on her, eventually completely suppressing her original personality so long as the crown is worn. Horrified by the lengths they would go to control her, Marni attempts to break the helmet, but Veyle is protected by a barrier and Marni is subsequently killed by Zephia for her attempted betrayal. In the ensuing battle, Alear and their forces are able to defeat Veyle and Marni's attack earlier had cracked the crown, allowing them to damage it enough to give the normal Veyle back control. Sombron appears, and having deemed her defective, launches a powerful breath attack at her, forcing Alear to intercept the attack, but is mortally wounded. As they die in her arms, Veyle realizes that Alear was the very sibling she had been searching for the entire time.
In an astral plane, the spirit of Veyle reunites with the spirit of Alear. Having lost all hope with their death, Veyle gives up and pleads for Alear to remain with her in the astral plane. Alear declares that they will not give up and asks Veyle to use her Fell Dragon powers to revive them as a Corrupted so they can try and save the world one more time. Veyle's ritual is a success and Alear is revived. Though her power only temporarily keeps them tethered to the physical world, the Emblems take over and bestow her sibling with a miracle blessing, thus turning them into an Emblem. With her sibling fully back, Veyle resolves herself to continue fighting by Alear's side to stop their father.
Sombron protects himself through three enchanted crystals in different locations in Gradlon. Veyle, still having lingering abilities from Sombron's control, is able to sense the crystals and guides Alear to them. This leads to a final battle against the remaining Four Hounds and a trip to the past to defeat Alear's past self. When Veyle senses the final crystal, she secretly heads there before Alear because she could sense the final guardian. Arriving at Gradlon Temple, Veyle encounters a Corrupted Lumera. Knowing that Veyle is Alear's biological sister, she offers to be her mother as she was to Alear. When Veyle refuses, Lumera attacks her in anger for murdering her and robbing Alear of her as a result. Alear and their forces arrive at the temple in time for them to protect Veyle. While appreciative of her sentiment, Alear promises to Veyle that they will face any challenges together, rather than alone.
Veyle would help Alear stop Sombron's ambitions in the Portal to Other Worlds, slaying him once and for all. With Elyos at peace once more, Veyle attends Alear's coronation as the new Divine Dragon Monarch for Lythos. She would later return to Gradlon and work on restoring it. Her efforts over a century led to the newly established people of Gradlon to chant for her coronation as the first Monarch of Gradlon. After much resistance, she would eventually accept the role with the descendants of Alear's forces and Alear themselves witnessing her ascension.
In an alternative ending, should Alear fall during the final battle against Sombron, a significant amount of time passes since their fall. When they awaken, Alear discovers that they have been transformed into a Dark Emblem. To make matters worse, an older Veyle wears their ring and has been completely overtaken by her evil persona.Fell Xenologue

Though not directly seen, a version of Veyle also existed in the Alternate Elyos and Mauvier was her retainer in that world as well. At some point, she died, causing Mauvier to defect from Sombron's army.
Personality
Veyle is an innocent young girl who is on a personal quest to locate her long lost sibling. She desires to make friends and easily believes in people who treat her kindly without a second thought. Her brief encounters with Alear at the beginning of the story show that she is polite, expressing gratitude for them bandaging her leg. For some reason, she feels a closeness to Alear and a desire to see them again in the future.
As a world traveler, she is eager to see and try new things. Most notably, Veyle enjoys spicy food and has been shown to have an extremely high tolerance for it. In several of her supports, she especially enjoys alarmingly spicy food that easily incapacitates the rest of the cast while she at best shows only mild discomfort. On the other hand, she dislikes sweet food.

Veyle holds incredibly strong feelings of love towards her family and dreams of having loving relationship with both her father and her lost sibling. Despite Sombron never showing her affection, with Veyle even admitting that he mistreated her at a very young age, she naïvely clung to her desire to have her father love her. In turn, this allowed him to easily manipulate her into aiding his schemes, albeit against her will through Zephia's magic. It is only after realizing that Sombron is incapable of love and beyond redemption that Veyle gave up on trying to reconcile with him. Even after defecting, she admits to Alear that she cannot completely hate her father, but has long since resolved herself to live on for the sake of her true family remaining.
Alear's unconditional love towards Veyle swayed her into joining their cause, especially once she learned that they are the sibling she was searching for. She developed something of a protective streak of them, desiring to handle the Corrupted Lumera out of concern for their emotional well-being of a potential battle with their beloved mother. While touched by her gesture, Alear assured Veyle that they would face every hardship together as siblings, a fact supported by their Support conversations. She fondly remembers her mother and was saddened by her death. Despite her mother being killed by humans for being one of Sombron's mates, Veyle holds no hostility towards humanity as a whole. She can also bond with Nel, who is also a child of Sombron, albeit from an alternative Elyos. Though initially disappointed that Nel does not seem to share the sentiment, with time and progress through their support, Nel can accept Veyle's request and thus give her another sibling to love.
Since discarding her evil persona, she desires to be more useful to people more than anything, and is the ally most able to withstand pain. Veyle harbors heavy guilt as a result of of her actions under Sombron's control and seeks to atone for it, particularly towards Diamant, Ivy, and Hortensia due to her indirect role in their fathers' deaths. Her status as a Fell Dragon also worries her as she believes some will hold disdain for her as several dragons in the past were killed by humans simply for being associated with Sombron, such as her mother, and the scorn she had received from humans directly a thousand years prior. Despite this, Veyle's character becomes known to the people of Elyos, beginning with a small Solm congregation who have begun to worship her as a good-natured dragon, despite her Fell Blood, much to her shock. With support of Alear, and according to her endings, Veyle becomes a well-loved figure as a monarch and a divine entity worshiped throughout Elyos over the millennia.
Under Sombron's control, Veyle has a split personality caused by a spell by Zephia that forces her draconic instincts. As a visual indicator, she has red eyes when under this persona and her purple eyes demeanor goes into hibernation when her eyes are red. Her instincts make her arrogant, sadistic, and cruel. Her affection towards her father is transformed into fanatical devotion and a desire to become a true Fell Dragon like him. While her true personality has virtually no recollection of her red eyes' actions, the red eyes persona is aware of her other form and has some memories of it. Due to this, she expressed sadistic pleasure in her normal form's horrified reaction to her actions and at the possibility of her normal form being erased upon the completion of the brainwashing.

Veyle is the last character recruited in the main story and thus has some of the strongest starting base stats. Her growths in turn tend to middle for most and has only five levels to work with before she hits her cap, though this is remedied thanks to the existence of Second Seals. Naturally, her Magic growth is the only real solid growth and is likely to increase with each level. Her overall magical growths are solid enough to make her something of a magic tank if she is lucky enough, but her physical growths barely budge at times, leaving her frail to a slew of melee range units and Bows when she takes a hit. Most of her other growths middle at best with no growth to her Build, meaning she can be encumbered when attempting to wield heavy weapons, further hampering her low Speed growth, though she does start with a solid enough 23 Speed.
Veyle's starting class, Fell Child, is a special class and thus has a level cap of 40. It specializes in Knives and Tomes. giving her a focus on mixed range combat. The Class Skill Fell Spirit automatically gives her one point to her Engage meter which will help to keep her constantly in her Engage state. Veyle has two exclusive weapons in Obscurité and Misericorde. The former hits extremely hard, though its higher weight makes it harder for her to perform Follow-Up Attacks while the latter is much lighter, but has less Might. The latter tends to be her overall better weapon since it deals Magic damage rather than physical and can poison foes, usually leading to more overall damage. Veyle's personal skill, Fell Protection, is the inverse of Alear's Divinely Inspiring, granting adjacent allies +1 to their attack damage and reducing incoming damage by 3. As such, much like Alear, Veyle can become a solid support character as she can struggle to finish foes in some instances, but at the very least she can significantly soften foes and can support her allies who finish the task.
Due to her Dragon Battle Style, like Alear, Veyle enhances the effects of Emblem Rings that she engages with. Due to her Tome and Knife specialties, she naturally works well with the Rings of the Caring Princess and Sage Lord. The Tome and Knife Precision skills give her general boosts to her two default weapons, though the Ring of the Caring Princess gives far more focused benefits with skills like Echo and Resonance. The Ring of the Dawn Maiden allows her to wield Staves, meaning she can heal allies using her strong Magic growths. The Ring of the Crux of Fate works extremely well with her as it expands her supportive options through skills like Quality Time or Draconic Hex.
Overall, Veyle is a late game unit who starts with a strong presence and while there are not too many main story chapters to really push her forward, she carries tremendous value just from her Dragon Unit status when using Emblem Rings. Her skill options make her valuable as a support unit once invested into, especially when forced into. She can also be a very strong Magic unit in the late game and can keep up with other strong magic users like Ivy and an Anna reclassed as a Mage/Sage, though they may already have pulled far away from her if they have been invested into.
With DLC, Veyle is an effective user of the Bracelet of the Strategist, should she remain in her default class. As a Dragon, her Battle Style doubles her critical rate. Her personal tome, Obscurité, empowered by Camilla's Engraving, can reach upwards of 80-100% critical chance on enemies even on Maddening difficulty, allowing her to one-round most enemies, including the speedy and resistant Griffon-riding classes. Hold Out for survivability and Divine Pulse or Hit+ for accuracy against more agile foes allows for Veyle to wipe large groups the moment she becomes available. This build is not a one-and-done deal, however. Chain Attacks, 3-ranged bows and spells, and fists are all things she needs to be wary of in this specific configuration.

Base Kit
Veyle is an Astra blessed Blue Tome Mythic Hero with a team bonus for Aether Raids, allowing an additional character to be slotted onto a team. On her own, she has an impressive neutral 46 Atk and great 85 magical bulk, especially off her solid 46 Res, which is her most important stat for a majority of her exclusive kit. Her Spd however is middling at best at a mere 30 and her physical bulk scores a mere 60 due to her 21 Def. Veyle can be an hardy magic tank if needed and comes with a slew of team benefits that make her indispensable on numerous teams.
Obscurité is her personal tome which lets her Special skill charge with one less attack. At the start of her turn, if she is within 2 spaces of an ally, she grants a visible +6 Atk/Res and【Resonance: Blades】and【Resonance: Shields】to herself and her allies, granting them bonus +4 Atk/Spd during combat and a +4 Def/Res buff plus a Null Follow-Up effect respectively. If Veyle initiates or is within two spaces of an ally during combat, she gains +5 to her four core stats, gains a guaranteed follow-up, deals 20% of her Res as non-lethal damage, and finally removes all Atk/Res bonuses on her foe during battle.
Fell Protection is her Mythic exclusive Skill C. If Veyle initiates combat or is within two spaces of an ally, she gains +5 Atk/Res during combat. Her Res is higher than her foe's +5 Res, she reduces damage received by 30% for the first hit she takes. If her foe can also trigger their special, she inflicts a special +1 cooldown charge on them before start of combat. It also gives allies within two spaces of Veyle a +4 Atk/Res bonus during combat, as well as the same combat bonus effects as Veyle receives from this skill under the same Res difference thresholds.
Iceberg works wonderfully under Veyle's tremendous Res to give a massive 23 true damage when she activates her special. Attack Resistance Finish at its fourth tier grants Veyle +7 Atk/Res during combat if she is within three spaces of an ally. If she triggers her special, she deals 5 bonus damage to her foe. If Veyle can attack a foe during combat, even if she deals no damage, she heals herself 7 HP after combat. Attack Resistance Tempo, also at its fourth tier, inflicts -4 Atk/Res on her foe and negates an effect that slows her Special activation or speeds up her foe's special activation. If her foe has a skill that reduces damage by a percentage, Veyle halves that damage reduction percentage.
Counters
Veyle needs to be close to her allies to reap the full benefits of her myriads of skills, some of which need to be active to break certain problematic walls and tanks such as Emblem Ike. Drawing her away from her allies immediately shuts down her combat capabilities universally, though she is taken care of during her turn with some of them activating if she initiates combat. She is able to check magic units, but is vulnerable to most melee units including dragons as there is no effect in her kit that removes their adaptive damage and cannot counterattack at melee range. Her Spd issue also leaves her vulnerable to follow-ups in general, and she needs her Obscurité effect up to prevent this from most of her biggest threats.
Skill Inheritance Options
Veyle's kit is fine tuned for immediate success and does not require any particular skill to replace her existing kit. Her only empty skill slot is her Assist Skill, which Draw Back is generally considered the best option for general protection and letting her set up better defensive positions for herself.

Base Kit
Fallen Veyle is a Colorless Tome Infantry unit who bears many of the same qualities of her Mythic version. She has incredibly high Atk and Res, sitting at 47 for both stats and letting her magical bulk score an impressive 87. She has much better physical bulk compared to her Mythic form, scoring a solid 79. Her only downside is her abysmally low Spd at a mere 16 and as low as 12 if that is her stat flaw.
Fell Child's Might lets Fallen Veyle activate her Special with one less attack. For allies within two spaces of her, they received 30% less damage for attacks during combat. If Fallen Veyle initiates combat or her foe uses a ranged weapon, she inflicts -6 Atk/Res during combat, inflicts a further penalty to their Atk/Res equal to 20% of her Res at the start of combat, reduces the damage she takes by 30% except for area-of-effect Specials, and grants her faster special charge per attack. Finally, if her Res is greater than her foe's Res+10, she attacks twice.
Fell Successor is a unique skill to Fallen Veyle. If she initiates combat or is within two spaces of an ally, she inflicts -5 Atk/Res on her foe during combat. If she has 5 more Res than her foe and if her foe can trigger their Special, inflicts a Special cooldown charge before their first attack. If her foe uses a ranged weapon, she inflicts +1 on them before their follow-up as well. For her allies, she grants them +4 to their four core stats during combat if they are within two spaces of her. Her allies receive the special slow down effect as she does on her own if she meets the same activation requirement as the previous effect and is within two spaces of her ally when it triggers.
Iceberg works great off her tremendous 47 Res to inflict 24 true damage to her foe when it activates. Fallen Veyle introduces a new inheritable Skill A in Crystalline Water, a fourth tier evolve of Still Water, granting a flat +8 Atk/Res to Fallen Veyle at the cost of -8 Def. At the start of either phase, she neutralizes any【Panic】on her as well as any visible penalty to her Atk and Res.
Counters
Fallen Veyle's Spd is her greatest crutch and none of her unique skills prevent her foes from performing follow-ups, though she should have enough bulk to potentially survive an encounter against several units, namely ranged units who she can at least counterattack and her weapon innately reduces damage received from. Melee units, especially with emphasis on high Spd can immediately burst through her with impunity. Fallen Veyle fortunately has the highest natural Res in the game, which does allow her to maintain her weapon's double attack threshold, however there are several Heroes that can naturally avoid this effect depending on their skills and their own innate Res.
Skill Inheritance Options
Fallen Veyle's kit synergizes fantastically with her main strengths, thus she requires no real replacements upon her release and she merely has to fill her Support skill, which Draw Back does fantastically.

- It is noted in one of Veyle's ally notebook entries that her mother was a kind Mage Dragon who, according to her B Support with Hortensia, was killed by humans after they learned she was Sombron's mate.
- Veyle is similar to Lilith from Fates as both are siblings to the Avatar (Alear and Corrin respectively) from each game and both are daughters to the game's main antagonist. They also served as pawns to their fathers before turning on them and helping the Avatars defeat them. The main difference is that Lilith both followed and eventually betrayed Anankos out of her own free will, while Veyle was brainwashed to remain obedient to Sombron via a spell.
- Veyle is also similar to Azura from Fates as both walk barefoot and have long hair. They meet the protagonist they are relatives to even though neither knew it at first (Veyle is Alear's younger sister while Azura is Corrin's older cousin).
