Turkey

Turkey is a Tier V nation located south of the Black Sea, Northwest (or part) of the Middle East, and Southeast (or part) of the Balkan Peninsula. It is a transcontinental nation, having most of its lands in a region called Anatolia, which is located in Asia , meanwhile East Thrace, also known as Turkish Thrace, dips into the bottom right corner of Europe Europe across the Balkan Peninsula.[1]

It's considered to be one of the strongest nations in its region, and as such is frequently seen being played by someone in public servers. This is also supported by the fact that Turkey has one of the most famed after formables in the game, the Ottoman Empire. Not to mention its terrain, which makes defending the nation against threats like Iran or Saudi Arabia much easier.

Its overall strategic location, Oil-rich supply of resources, and outstanding base statistics compared to most of its neighbours make Turkey one of the best nations to start as in the game, as it can easily keep itself afloat in the world stage, aswell as easily rise to be an early-game superpower using its military capabilities.

Geography

Turkey's Terrain

Terrain and Biome

The terrain of Turkey comes in four waves, with the westernmost area around Istanbul and Izmir being flat, the region around Ankara being hilly, the Kurdistan region being Semi-Mountainous and the easternmost area bordering the Caucasus being Mountainous, alongside a small hilly patch above the fertile crescent.

Turkey does not have any biomes except for the default.

Borders

Turkey borders Bulgaria and Greece to the northwest. In the Southeast, it borders Syria and Iraq. In the northeast, Turkey borders Georgia, Armenia, and Iran. It also shares a maritime border with Cyprus.

Formables

Current

Turkey currently has three formables, which are the;

Turkey is also considered in being able to form the Seljuk Empire in the near future.

Removed

Turkey was once also able to form Hittite, but it was removed due to overextension.

Threats

  • Iran is able to take Iraq and be a nuisance, and also sometimes invades Turkey itself.
  • Saudi Arabia in rare cases can expand North.
  • Egypt is able to take apart of the Middle East and expand into Africa.
  • Greece may become a powerhouse and invade Turkey for the Byzantine Empire, Macedonian Empire, or rarely Megali's Idea.
  • Countries such as Pakistan, while rare, may invade Turkey for the resources, or to form the Islamic Caliphate.
  • Russia, while rare, may expand south through the Caucasus and invade Turkey.
  • At rare times, Mongolia may want to invade Turkey to form the Mongol Empire.
  • Many European powers require parts of North Africa for colonial formables.
  • At rare times, China may invade pieces of Europe , and at very rare times, invade Turkey itself.
  • India may want lots of resources, so it may invade the Middle East mainly for Oil.

Strategy

This strategy will help you dominate the Middle East and Balkans. It'll also give you more resources and manpower, a population boost and more money in the beginning, and control of the canals of Istanbul and Suez.

  1. You start by justifying on Syria and Lebanon in the beginning of the game, split your Home guard into four 50k divisions and use them to invade both countries (TURN REINFORCEMENTS OFF! They will waste the manpower you will use for your tanks!). Don't worry if Lebanon is a player, they're too small to defend against you. If Syria is a player, try to rush their square cities to prevent them from producing tanks, they should fall pretty easily due to your army size. Make one of each factory (except Aircraft and Civilian) in seperate square cities for a bonus 250k income. Once you seize the treasury of both countries, start to produce tanks and build two civilian factories. If your home guard is strong enough, use them to invade Cyprus and then disband them.
  2. Once you start to produce consumer goods, try to sell them to countries willing to buy them. Use the previously trained tanks to invade Jordan, Israel and Palestine. If Egypt is a player, train enough around 3-4 tank divisions from each of your square cities to invade them, Egypt has a smaller population and less square cities so it should be easily to overwhelm them and annex them. Just make sure you don't blindly auto capture if they show that they're skilled, especially if they place a fort in Cairo, If they do, get destroyers and artillery to wear out the garrison there.
  3. If Iran is a player and have taken Iraq, leave them, It's very painful to invade Iran and is just time consuming, you can go for them later once you have a stronger income and manpower gain. If Iraq hasnt been taken, invade them with around 2-3k tanks along with Kuwait.
  4. Almost never does a Saudi Arabian player invade North instead of South, if they do, leave them for now, Saudi Arabia is one of those countries that has spacious cities leading to attrition.
  5. It is recommended you go Socialism then Communism. Since you're invading lots of countries with high population, you need Socialism to ensure you don't run out of consumer goods and to ensure your war exhaustion doesn't spike fast.
  6. If you have all the territory needed for Ottoman Empire in Asia, then you can go for the Balkan countries needed, being Greece, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. If any of them are players, you should be able to overpower them easily. If Italy has taken a few Balkan countries, you can either invade them or try to gain the territory diplomatically.
  7. If you want to increase your resources, population and manpower gain rather than waste time in the semi mountainous terrain of the Balkans (You can do this if you have already formed Ottoman Empire). You can invade North Africa to Morocco. If any of the North African countries have been invaded by Europeans, you can invade them (excluding France and the United Kingdom). If you're aiming for Islamic Caliphate, then you can take Spain as well.
  8. You can then go for the Arabian peninsula If it hasn't been invaded by anyone so far, then turn your full focus to Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. They require massive amounts of Infantry to invade (excluding Pakistan), It'd take too long to invade them with Tanks due to the terrain. Expect significant losses.
  9. Once you've formed the Islamic Caliphate, you should likely be one of the leading powers in the world, both militarily and economically. You can either go for India (If they're AI), Central Asian countries, or invade Europe if you for complete world domination. To summarize, you can pretty much expand freely.
