Singapore

Singapore is a tiny Tier III nation located in Southeast Asia . Singapore isn't often a player even though it's rich and has a ridiculously huge population of 5 million for it's size. It is in a way more feasible position too compared to other city states like Hong Kong at the tip of superpower China, waiting to be devoured.

Background

Singapore is a small, yet important island nation located just south of Malaysia. In the 2nd century AD the first settlement was established at Singapore by the Sumatran Srivijaya Empire. It was a successful fishing village. Later between the 16th and the 19th centuries the area was controlled by the Sultanate of Johor.

In 1819, Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles arrived to the islands. He was an agent of the British East India Company. Great Britain then secured its control from the British East India Company and turned it into a major port for trading in Southeast Asia, the country later became a crown colony under direct British control on 1 April 1867.

During World War II, the island was occupied by the Japanese, however, the Japanese were defeated and in 1945, Singapore became a British Crown Colony again. In 1963, Singapore separated from Britain and joined the independent country of Malaysia. However, this did not work and in 1965, Singapore became a fully independent country.

Since then, Singapore has become one of the richest, most successful, and most expensive countries in the world.

Singapore can form:

Threats

Strategy

With its threats being relatively underplayed, Singapore is ranked among the best city-states in the game, since Hong Kong is usually annexed by China, Liechtenstein is annexed by either, Germany, Austria, Switzerland or Italy, Andorra is usually annexed by either France or Spain and the Caribbean nations are mostly annexed by stronger countries in North and South America and maybe even stronger countries in the Caribbean themselves.

Make Motor factories, Electronic Factories and Fertilizer Factories. Buy the materials. This gives you the resource bonus of about 750K. Then, make a civilian factory and change Ideology to Nationalism/ Socialism. Buying oil is a must when before invading Thailand.

Ally with Indonesia if it is a player because it is crucial to your survival. First, recruit 50K troops-100K troops to annex Johor if it has been released; otherwise, 100K troops and justify and declare on Malaysia. If Malaysia is AI, use AI luring technique. Else if its a player, make a submarine and try and get Malaysia to try and capture your capital. The submarine should destroy their troops. Then, while Malaysia is trying to raise and army, capture their major cities and then go for the smaller cities. If Sarawak and Sabah exists, invade them as well. Invade Pattaya and Bangsamoro with 50K - 100K troops. it exists. Then, invade Brunei with 50K troops. That should be more than enough. To invade Thailand, make 250K troops and 500-700 tanks. Use AI luring technique to destroy its home guard. Defeating Cambodia and Laos should be a breeze, just use AI luring. Use 500k troops to invade Vietnam and Myanmar. For the Philippines use 450K. If it is a player, use navy to destroy their troops as they have not many inland positions.

This is the most difficult part, invading Indonesia. Get ready an army of 600K- 900K troops, 1K-5K tanks, some arty, some bombers and 2 submarines, a battleship and/or destroyer. Position the Submarines at Singapore, to stop any Indonesian invasion. If Indonesia is an AI, use AI luring by capturing a city and positioning artillery there. However, if Indonesia is a player, use the bombers to scorch Jakarta and other square cities. Then use Attackers to destroy his troops, if he has AA, use infantry to destroy it. Use your Infantry to capture Indonesian land, while you use the tanks to steamroll whatever remains of the Indonesian army.

With all of Southeast Asia, you can choose to form the Federation of South East Asian States. If you are looking for further expansion, invade the Chinese releasable ( if there are) or East Timor and Oceania. You may also choose to invade Sri Lanka and Indian Releasables.

IF you decide to invade Australia, use transport planes to capture the inland cities.

If Indonesia invades while you are just a city state

Indonesia outnumbers you by a lot - 240K - 30K. However, with a the right strategy, you can stop Indonesia from invading you. Thanks to the new update, Singapore is easier to defend.

Put 3 submarines and a destroyer near Singapore. Put 2 units of arty on Singapore and 150K troops and 3 units of AA + 200 tanks (optional). Build fortifications. This will effectively stop any Indonesian landings in Singapore. If they do, they are likely to rack 100k - 500k casualties. Next, capture Tanjung Pinang (if Riau hasn't been released) and put 1 submarine and another destroyer there. Wear them down. They are likely to eventually surrender or leave, as Indonesian releaseables are likely to break away if the war is dragged on for too long. After then, it is just a matter of white peace.

If India invades (early game while you are city state or only have Malayan Pen.)

Put 2 destroyers, 2 submarines and 1 battleship (if you can) in the middle of Sumatra and the Malayan Peninsula. Make sure to build fortifications in all square cities. If you are allied with China, ask them to join. If they join, India will likely not do very well. If China doesn't join, that is okay. Put artillery on your coastal cities and AA on major cities. Should they try and invade by sea, send submarines to take care of battleships and destroyers to destroy landing ships and battleships to destroy frigates, aircraft carriers and destroyers. However, if there are only landing ships, use submarines to destroy them. Capture the Andaman Islands if possible. If India decides to Invade by air, use AA and fighters to destroy them. If possible, make bombers to do damage to the Indian homeland. Make them rack up around 600k casualties and ask them to white peace. If they don't, they will rack up even more casualties and their stability will suffer. They will likely white peace or leave.

If Maurya Empire (India) invades (Mid/late game, when you have eaten a sizeable portion of mainland Southeast Asia)

Scenario 1: Land invasion thru Thailand

Make sure square cities have fortifications and AA. Put 2 destroyers, 2 submarines and 1 battleship (if you can) in the middle of Sumatra and the Malayan Peninsula to stop any naval invasion. If you are allied with China, ask them to join.

Invading force are mostly tanks:

Reasearch anti-tank weapons for infantry and use them to stop tanks. Use Attackers to bomb the tanks and make them rack up high casualties. Once the main offensive force is taken care of, invade what was formerly {{Flag}} Burma using tanks or infantry while using bombers to destroy their square cities. Capture the Andaman Islands if possible. Invade the coastal cities of India if you have atleast 700k troops.

Invading force are mostly Infantry:

Use attackers to destroy their infatry while using artillery to destroy them. Send in tanks to destroy their infantry. Once the main offensive force is taken care of, invade what was formerly Myanmmar using tanks or infantry while using bombers to destroy their square cities. Capture the Andman Islands if possible. Invade the coastal cities of India if you have atleast 700k troops.

Scenario 2 : Invasion thru Water

Put 2 destroyers , 2 submarines and 1 battleship(if you can) in the middle of Sumatra and the Malayan Peninsuala. Postion artillery on the thin strip of Thailand and capture Myannmar's part of it. This will stop any naval landings from happening. Send submarines to take care of battleships and destoryers to destroy landing ships and battleships to destroy frigates, aircraft carriers and destroyers. However, if there are only landing ships, use submarines to destroy them. Capture the Andman Islands if possible. Use the bombers to bomb Indian homelands.
