Bahrain is an island nation located in Asia . It has only 1 city, its capital Manama. It doesn't border any country in the game, however in reality it's connected to
Saudi Arabia by a bridge.
Background
Bahrain is home to one of the oldest civilizations in the world. As far back as 3000 BC the Dilmun civilization was a trade center between the Indus Valley (India) and Ancient Mesopotamia for almost 1000 years. The former capital of the Dilmun, Qal'at al-Bahrain, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
Later Bahrain was taken over by the Assyrians and then the late Persian Empire. Next came Alexander the Great and the Greeks who renamed the island Tylos. The island was ruled over the next several hundreds of years by various Arab and Mediterranean countries and rulers.
In 1783 the Al Khalifa family, from the Bani Utbah tribe, captured Bahrain from Persia. They have ruled the island ever since. In the 1830s Bahrain became a British Protectorate. This meant they had British protection, but where also considered a British ally. This was mainly done to protect Bahrain from Ottoman Turkey.
In 1968, the British government decided to end its treaties in the Persian Gulf. In 1971 Bahrain became a fully independent country.

Strategy
How to Form Islamic Caliphate as Bahrain
Forming big formables as small nations is not easy, but can be done with a simple strategy. Forming Islamic Caliphate as Bahrain is not easy, but with your tiny balance and a tiny manpower limit you can still become powerful. First make a unit of 70k/80k troops with most if not all of your manpower. Next, you should justify on Qatar and the
United Arab Emirates. Declare on them both and build artillery or a frigate to start damaging the Qatari amd Emirati troops. AI lure the Emirati troops, and once the Qatari troops are low enough in number, invade them too. Once United Arab Emirates is under your control attack Oman and Kuwait and start preparing for the war against
Saudi Arabia.
AI lure the troops of Kuwait and Oman, and once they are gone, start taking the countries. These countries are needed to form the very powerful Gulf Union, but you will need to take out Saudi Arabia to do this, which is certainly a challenge. Take the treasuries of Oman and Kuwait. Build recruitment centers on every city you can.
Planes
You will need planes to defeat a competent Saudi player. An air force is important to have, and ideally you should have a mix of all three, but a few attackers and fighters are fine. Attackers will help you kill troops. Bombers will help you bomb enemy player cities, and they are still moderately effective against infantry. Fighters are arguably the most valuable, as they are the most effective at destroying enemy planes.
Attacking Saudi Arabia
The invasion of Saudi Arabia may be the hardest part of this run. If they are AI, then there is almost no need to build an air force. You just need to beat other nations like Egypt or
Turkey from taking the land. If they are a player, then they likely have already taken key areas like
Yemen and
Jordan, meaning they are likely much stronger then you. You will preferably want to fortify your capital, Manama. With Qatar and the UAE captured, you will have access to tanks, which will be good in the flat terrain of Arabia. Build a small navy, preferably with destroyers, as this is very helpful in the war against a larger country, especially since most of your land is coastal. While you have almost no natural defense, fortified artillery that is protected by infantry is still very strong. Once you have won this war, you may form the Gulf Union, which should boost your power massively.
Invading the rest of the Middle East
After invading Saudi Arabia, try to invade Iraq and Jordan. There is a high chance that these are both taken by stronger powers like Turkey or Iran, but if they aren't, you will probably have the strength to win a war against them by now. Make more troops, you should have a lot of manpower waiting to be used by now (use it all). Try to take Baghdad as quick as possible because the sooner you take it the easier the whole invasion will be for you. (same goes for other nations with just 1 big city. Argentina, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc.)Invade Israel, Syria, and Lebanon. (You don't need to invade them all at once). Now you should be getting a lot bigger.
Invading Turkey.
After that start thinking of getting a big navy, as this should be very important for player wars and wars you cant win with just your troops. Invade Egypt use Destroyers, Battleships, or Carriers to bomb their 150k troops sitting in Cairo. Now take all of the African Nations you need Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. Invade Gibraltar with at least 110k Troops. Now invade Spain and Portugal. Now you need to focus on the East you have only three nations left Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Invade Iran from every inch of your border after killing their Home Guard (90k Troops). After invading Iran which is obviously very difficult invade Afghanistan and Pakistan. Now you can form the Islamic Caliphate good job. (Please keep in mind its not going to be this easy because at least 1, 2, 3, or even more of these nations will be players plus India needs Pakistan and Afghanistan to form Maurya Empire and sometimes expands Westwards and invades Iran)
