Burma

Burma, or Myanmar, is a Tier III nation located in Southeastern Asia . It is the only Southeast Asian nation bordering both India and China. It also borders Thailand, Bangladesh and Laos.

Background

The area that is today the country of Burma has been ruled by major dynasties in the past. In 1044AD the Pagan Dynasty came into power. This time is often called the Golden Age of Burma. It was during this time at Buddhism became a major religion in Burma. The kings of the Pagan Dynasty built many Buddhist shrines and pagodas. This time lasted for around 150 years until the Mongol invaders arrived.

The next major dynasty formed in region was the Toungoo Dynasty in 1486. This dynasty expanded the empire and ruled for over 250 years. It was followed by the Konbaung Dynasty. The first king of the Konbaung was King Alaungpaya. This was a warring dynasty which fought the Chinese, the Siamese, and later the British. They fell to the British Empire in 1885. At this time Burma became a part of the British India.

After WWII the Burmese wanted their independence from Britain. Their leader was General Aung San. Burma gained independence in January 1948. Burma initially had a constitutional government, but there was much fighting for power within the country. Military leaders took over. In 1990, when the military group lost the elections, they refused to accept the results and imprisoned many political figures who opposed them. Even today political leaders such as Aung San Suu Kyi are held in prison because they do not agree with the military government.

Today Burma is a country with much unrest and few political freedoms. In 1989 Burma changed its name to Myanmar.

On February 1, 2021, another military coup took place, and a military junta is currently in power.

Terrain

Burma is made up of mostly normal terrain with Jungle biome, but is hilly and Semi-Mountainous along its border with China and India.

Cities

Burma has 35 cities with a total 10,420,959 population. The most populous is Rangoon (also known as Yangon), with the capital being Naypyidaw. Burma has 2 cities capable of building tanks, them being the aforementioned Rangoon alongside Mandalay.

These cities' geographical locations can also be beneficial. Mandalay is directly north of Naypyidaw, which in turn is directly north of Rangoon. With the line formed by connecting them bisecting the most important parts of the country, fortifying this line could be a particularly useful strategy to mount a defense in case of an attack by a foreign power.

Strategy

Starting Moves

When you start off, immediately build an electronics factory, buy the required resources and justify war of Thailand, and attempt to ally China or India. Then, annex Thailand.

Defending against China

Conquest of Indochina

By now, Vietnam will have Laos and Cambodia, if they are a player. If not, build up tanks and take these 3 nations. If they are a player, build artillery and build tanks in any of your 1M+ population cities, preferably in core cities, to counterattack. They will usually spam troops, so scorching isn’t a bad idea. However, if they are a pro, TBA After counterattacking, you should have all of Indochina. Form the Toungoo Dynasty

Conquest of the South

If Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia are AI, take Malaysia and then Singapore. You could troop spam Singapore but I would recommend to spam artillery to slowly defeat the homeguard. If Indonesia has Malaysia and Singapore but are AI, quickly attack them with a lot of tanks before they become a player.

If Indonesia is a player

Firstly, Create 3 or 4 electronic factories, after these are nearly completely buy the required resources and research factory output 2.(It also may be recommended to research tax instead and sell 5 electronics per nation) Next, you'll probably be on Indonesia hit list first so quickly make a navy of Battleships, Submarines and Destroyers. Start training them and beginning on an Aircraft factory, once you have your aircraft parts, make a attacker and use it for naval invasions as it's extremely effective on the an army in the water. Continue this process until the player runs out of manpower or leaves the game, once they're an AI or weak take Indonesia's capital and continue to invade until you can annex.

Ideology

If you want to be a military powerhouse, the communism path is good for long wars and the fascist path is good for expanding quickly. If you want to chill and be rich, you cant go wrong with Democracy. However, you can stay Non-Aligned and implement the Neutrality Act.
