Honduras is a Tier II nation located in Central America. It borders Guatemala,
El Salvador, and
Nicaragua.
Background
Honduras, officially the Republic of Honduras, is a country in Central America. The republic of Honduras is bordered to the west by Guatemala, to the southwest by El Salvador, to the southeast by Nicaragua, to the south by the Pacific Ocean at the Gulf of Fonseca, and to the north by the Gulf of Honduras, a large inlet of the Caribbean Sea.
Honduras was home to several important Mesoamerican cultures, most notably the Maya, before the Spanish colonization in the sixteenth century. The Spanish introduced Roman Catholicism and the now predominant Spanish language, along with numerous customs that have blended with the indigenous culture. Honduras became independent in 1821 and has since been a republic, although it has consistently endured much social strife and political instability and remains one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. In 1960, the northern part of what was then the Mosquito Coast was transferred from Nicaragua to Honduras by the International Court of Justice. The nation's economy is primarily agricultural, making it especially vulnerable to natural disasters such as Hurricane Mitch in 1998. The lower class is primarily agriculturally based, while wealth is concentrated in the country's urban centers. Honduras has a Human Development Index of 0.625, classifying it as a nation with medium development. When the index is adjusted for income inequality, its inequality-adjusted Human development index is 0.443. Honduras spans about 112,492 km2 (43,433 sq mi) and has a population exceeding 9 million. Its northern portions are part of the western Caribbean zone, as reflected in the area's demographics and culture. Honduras is known for its rich natural resources, including minerals, coffee, tropical fruit, and sugar cane, as well as for its growing textiles industry, which serves the international market. |

Geography
The terrain in Honduras is divided between Semi-Mountainous and Hilly terrain. Honduras' biome is complete Jungle. This makes it easy to defend against countries like Mexico and the
United States, If they are spamming troops, just stay entrenched and you can make them take a lot of losses (however, you'll probably lose due to your lack of manpower and a good economy.)
Cities
Honduras has 16 cities, and 3 of them are ports.
Formable
Honduras can form the Republic of Central America
Strategy
First, when starting a game, build three electronics factories. Buy gold and copper. Make sure you are selling to AI countries, you can tell because when the name of the desired country is yellow they are a player.
(5 electronics each)
While doing all this, make sure you have justified Costa Rica and Guatemala. Convert all manpower to infantry and go massed attack doctrine. Take one city from both of them and use AI Luring, after that, auto-capture both. Do the same with Belize and El Salvador (ask an ally for manpower if needed, preferably India, Russia, or Brazil). After doing all that, form the Republic of Central America. By this point, Mexico must have been justified before you did all this. Make at least 10 tank divisions (buy oil and research tech tree.) If the Mexico player is spamming troops at you, make sure you stay entrenched. YourJungle biome provides a 3.25x Entrenchment bonus, meaning you can decimate his troops. As you expand, make motor & steel factories with the needed resources and start using tanks for expansion.
Threats
- Possible expansion from the United States after they form
North American Union.
- Mexico will probably try to form
Mexican Empire.
- Other Central American countries that would like to form
Republic of Central America.
Trivia
- Honduras and
El Salvador fought a full-on war over a football game.
- Honduras is the only country in Central America without volcanoes.
