Barbados

Barbados is a Tier II nation in the Caribbean Sea.

Background

In 1625, English sailors landed on the island of Barbados. They found an uninhabited island and claimed it for Britain. The place where the sailors landed is the town of Holetown today. The first settlers from England arrived two years later in 1627. They established a local House of Assembly, which largely ruled the British colony. The main industry was sugar. The island became divided into huge estates called plantations. Slaves were imported from Africa to work the sugar fields until slavery was abolished in the British empire in 1834. The economy remained heavily dependent on sugar, rum, and molasses production through most of the 20th century. The gradual introduction of social and political reforms in the 1940s and 1950s led to complete independence from the United Kingdom in 1966. In the 1990s, tourism and manufacturing surpassed the sugar industry in economic importance.

Geography

Barbados is a small island country. As such, it has no terrain, which makes it annoying if you go from water to land to water and back to land.

It also has no biome.

Barbados has one city, its capital Bridgetown, with a population of 191,152, which is pretty good for an island country in the Caribbean.

Strategy

Since Barbados has no real threats except for the United Kingdom rarely forming the British Empire, it's an easy country to gather XP and play as. First, you should justify on neighboring islands. You should gather a small navy and start training troops, also using your technology points on infantry damage and defense. Eventually, you should have enough money to make a few electronic factories, which you can use to make electronics and sell to ai nations. If there is no other Carribean player than you should continue annexing carribean islands with forming West Indies Federation in mind. If there is another Carribean player then ally powerful neighboring countries like Brazil or the United States and prepare for war. Train troops with the Jungle Specialization and prepare for a war. You can also produce planes to help with your attack. You should be able to invade the other country with ease. Soon enough you should be able to form West Indies Federation and gain stability, which can help you in the future. You can start taking countries on the mainland such as various ones in Central America and Northern South America. Then, you can invade the rest of South America, which should make you powerful enough to invade Mexico, the United States, and Canada, or the North American Union if it was already formed. Then, you should be able to invade the rest of the world, keeping an eye on your War Exhaustion and Stability if you aren't nationalist yet.

Threats

Other nations trying to form Caribbean Federation. (Uncommon-Rare)
