Physiology

Beautifly concept art

Beautifly is a black-colored, butterfly-like Pokémon. It has the black slanted point extended on its head and a grayish face with a black proboscis. It has large, dark blue eyes, its face is light grayish in color. Beautifly's body also has grayish, stubby, fingerless limbs with a white, egg-shaped underside/abdomen. Its wings are very large and colorful with yellow, blue and red spots. The lower part of the wings have pointed horns and long extensions. When shiny, its wings and its proboscis are purple and the spots on its wings are lighter tone color. Its head and body is brown and its face, limbs, and abdomen are lighter brown/orange.

Gender differences

Male Beautifly have bigger red spots on their wings. This is the same case with Butterfree.

Behavior

Beautifly is a carnivorous Pokémon that drains their prey of their fluids using their proboscis. They are aggressive despite their innocent appearance and will attack those who anger them. It is also a pollinator and is attracted to all sorts of flowers. They fiercely attack Combee who compete with them for food. During mating season, Beautifly of both genders will attack members of the same sex ruthlessly in competition for mates. They are solitary and territorial Pokémon, only coming together during the spring mating season. During this time, Beautifly attacks also become more common, as the Pokémon both become more aggressive and numerous when mating, riding the spring winds into densely-populated areas.
