Zaom is a completely optional opponent and has an exceedingly poor Magic stat for a magic user. It is so low, in fact, that Tina can freely pilfer his gear with her Thief Staff, after a single use of Barrier. This is fortunate, as Zaom possesses a variety of valuable items, including a Warp. Zaom will likely amount to nothing more than a free Warp, remaining stationary in his room while the Liberation Army uses a Rescue Staff to bypass his dungeon's defenses and a Thief Staff to steal his precious staff without even bothering to engage him.
