Background
Odessa is a southern Ukrainian oblast, bordered by Moldova and Romania in the west and the Black Sea in the south. It is Ukraine's largest oblast by area. The Danube and Dniester rivers flow through it.
In April 2014 and 2015, amidst the Euromaidan protests, declarations of a sovereign Odessa People's Republic appeared. Unlike 
Donetsk or 
Luhansk however, these attempts weren't successful and the region remains in Ukraine
