Description

The Bolt is a very fast enemy that appears in Easy mode. It is noticeably faster than most of the enemies that have spawned previously, or will subsequently, in Easy mode. It also has slightly more health than the Armored, though it lacks its defense.

In Easy mode, the Grave Digger can spawn the Bolt with its Triumphing Sheol ability. The Bolt can also be spawned from the Mystery upon its death in Easy mode.

The Bolt is replaced by the Arrow in Headache Headquarters.

Appearance

The current Bolt has a glowing bright yellow skin color and a desaturated yellow torso and legs. It wears a grey vest on its body with a glowing yellow lightning bolt emblem and a yellow stripe going down the middle. The front side of the vest has smaller yellow stripes leading up towards the backside. The backside of the vest has an exposed compartment with a red switch and two batteries labeled "Durablox" embedded into a battery compartment. It also has two vents on the backside that emit a yellow aura. It constantly emits sparking particles.

It plays a thunder striking sound on death.

The first version of the Bolt had glowing bright yellow skin and a dark yellow torso and legs. It had an energy pack on its back, a glowing desaturated yellow lightning bolt on its chest and desaturated yellow veins could be seen on its body. It also emitted yellow particles as it runs.

It played a thunder sound on death.

The current version of the legacy Bolt is smaller than most of the enemies in the game. It has neon sky blue skin, and a diamond-plated torso and legs. There is a blue lightning bolt symbol on its torso and it wears grey diamond-plated armbands. When it runs, it has a sprinting animation. Blue sparks come out from its torso and arms.

It played a popping sound on death.

The second version of the legacy Bolt was identical to its third version, except it had a sad face.

The first version of legacy Bolt had neon blue skin, a dark grey torso and legs with a lightning bolt symbol on its torso. It also wore grey diamond-plated armbands. Blue sparks were emitted from its head. When running, its animation was similar to that of a Naruto Run.

Strategy

  • Using towers that can slow down the Bolt, such as the Electroshocker, Sledger and Warden, is highly recommended.
    • Be wary that due to its fast speed, Sledgers may occasionally miss their swings.
    • Because of its high chain damage, a Level 5 Electroshocker can be used to easily kill multiple Bolts.
  • The Accelerator is not recommended as its charge-up time makes it perform worse against the Bolt.
    • However, a Level 5 Accelerator can easily kill Bolts, as its charge up time is greatly reduced at that level.
  • Cheap towers with decent DPS such as the Soldier, Militant or Crook Boss can perform well against this.
  • Because of the Bolt's high speed, towers with slow firerate and range, such as the Shotgunner, will perform poorly against this enemy.
  • Bolts mostly appear in groups, so splash damage towers like the Rocketeer and Mortar are fairly effective. You may want other towers with high range, such as the Minigunner or Ranger, to assist with any Bolts that may survive.
  • Placement is crucial. Even with a tower's high range, Bolts can still pass through if the tower does not have enough path coverage.
    • The DJ Booth is recommended in this case, as it can be used to boost the towers' range.
    • Using the Commander (and its Call to Arms ability) to boost firerate will help.
  • The Military Base's Tanks and Railgun Tanks can absorb damage from damaged Bolts pretty easily while also being able to take out multiple Bolts.

Trivia

  • The Bolt used to have a very similar appearance to the Circuit from Polluted Wasteland II, with only color changes separating them.
    • The Bolt and Shock also used to be very similar in appearance with only material and color changes separating them.
  • The Bolt was formerly one of the smallest enemies in the game.
  • The word "Durablox" written on the batteries is a portmanteau of Duracell, which is a real-life battery brand, and Roblox.
