"Elite Molten are beginning to run down the field.
We cannot not[sic] be defeated! Our recruits are the finest in the field!"

Commander dialogue on Wave 24 (Molten)

Description

The Elite Molten is a stronger version of the Molten, which appears in Molten mode. It has rather low health for its debut and slightly fast speed. It makes up for this with its defense, which is quite high. It is also Burn Immune, meaning it cannot be set on fire.

Appereance

The Elite Molten has neon orange red skin, which is lava. Its legs and torso is covered in molten rock, with a large crack on its torso and some small cracks on the legs. It also has multiple molten rocks sticking out of its body. On its arms, it has two grey arm-bands with grey spikes and chains on them.

Strategy

  • Towers with high DPS like the Minigunner, Ranger, Engineer or Accelerator can mod down large hordes of Elite Moltens due to their high DPS.
    • The Ranger and Engineer can also partially bypass its defense through splash damage.
  • The Military Base's units can easily soak up several collisions with Elite Moltens, due to their collision damage bypassing its defense.
  • Defense dropping towers like the Freezer, DJ Booth or Electroshocker can be useful at reducing its high defense.
  • While towers that deal fire damage like the Pyromancer or Trapper cannot burn the Elite Molten, they can still deal non-burn damage to it.
    • They cannot, however, drop their defense, making their defense dropping useless against the Elite Molten.
