"Hazardous enemies incoming!
Fast and tanky with Giant bosses in the back."

Commander dialogue on Wave 28 (Pizzeria before the mini rework)

Description

The Balloon Kid is an enemy only found in Pizza Party. It has a mediocre amount of health and an above average speed. However, it holds a balloon which it uses to float in the air, making it a Flying enemy. This also means that it cannot collide with units, as well as being undetectable by the majority of towers and units.

Appearance

The Balloon Kid is a robot that resembles a child. It has tan skin, grey pants, black shoes, a striped red and blue torso, sleeves, propeller hat and a balloon that it holds, which it uses to float in the air. It has a red nose and the left side of its face is torn open. It also has two red buttons on its torso. Its propeller hat's propeller spins as the Balloon Kid flies.

It makes a popping sound on death.

Strategy

  • Towers with flying detection are the best way to deal with the Balloon Kid.
    • The Ranger and Golden Soldier are very strong options.
      • The Militant is another option, but may be unreliable due to its lower DPS.
    • As these spawns in hordes, the Executioner and Mortar can be quite effective at clearing them out.
    • The Ace Pilot and Pursuit can deal with Balloon Kids fairly effectively, but be mindful of their circling and targeting mechanics, which could let some Balloon Kids past.
    • Alternatively, if you do not have any towers with flying detection, you can use a UAV to make other towers target Balloon Kids.
      • Do note that the UAV only lasts 30 seconds and can only be used four times, so you cannot completely rely on it for flying detection, though it can allow you to survive few waves without it.
    • You can also use the Commander's Support Caravan ability to spawn in Gunner APCs and Missile APCs if your main DPS does not have flying detection.
  • There are many towers that do not have flying detection but can damage Balloon Kids in other ways. Most of these methods are not viable ways to deal with the Balloon Kids. Another detectable enemy must be nearby for these to happen.
    • Explosions from towers can damage the Balloon Kid indirectly.
      • Only the Mortar, Ace Pilot and Pursuit can directly target Balloon Kids with splash damage. Others require a nearby detectable enemy.
    • Some ground towers, like the Gladiator and Shotgunner, can hit the Balloon Kid while it is in the air, if they are on a high platform or leverage, though this is extremely unlikely to occur.
    • The Brawler tower is able to hit the Balloon Kid using its Reposition ability.
