- "There's some slimes coming towards us! Be sure to take them out before they can transform! What twisted lab did these things come from?!"
- ―Commander dialogue on Wave 11 (Intermediate)
Description
The Slime is an enemy that appears in Intermediate mode. It can also appear in Mid Rank PVP Test, if a Failed Experiment is killed in it. It has a decent amount of health and a decent speed. Additionally, it is spawned by all enemies that have the Slime attribute, with the exception of other Slimes. Slimes have the ability to turn into another enemy, if not killed in time. The enemy it spawns will always be the highest health non-boss enemy currently on the path, although it cannot turn into itself. It will ignore the Shield Health of an enemy when deciding which enemy to transform, into. Wave 11 of Intermediate mode greatly increases the time it takes for the spawned Slimes to use their ability.
The Slime can also be summoned by Patient Zero with its Binary Fission ability. It is also a primary focus of the Oops! All slimes! challenge map, as all enemies spawn with the Slime attribute, therefore making the Slime spawn from every enemy.
As most enemies with the Slime attribute spawn the Slime, it can also appear in the Jailed Towers, Back to Basics, Legion and Oops! All slimes! challenge maps. It also appeared in The Classic Event through the Slime attribute.
Appearance
The Slime is a humanoid made of a translucent green goo, with bones inside each part of its body. It has a ribcage with a spine, a long bone in each limb, and a skull, which is cracked at the top, going from the middle of the facial area to its right eyehole.
It does a front flip and emits liquid green particles whenever it spawns in. It does not emit shards or dust on death.
Strategy
- Slimes will turn into much stronger enemies, later also reappearing when these are killed, making them quite dangerous.
- Towers with good DPS, such as the Minigunner, Cowboy, Military Base or Accelerator can be quite effective against it.
- Towers with high damage, such as the Rocketeer or Ranger can kill the Slime in a single shot, making them quite effective at stopping it from turning into another enemy.
- Later on, multiple enemies will spawn with the slime attribute, making the Slime appear quite often.
- However, as these Slimes will have rather low health, most DPS towers should be able to kill them with ease.
- The enemies that the Slime transforms into do not give cash, as they are considered summoned enemies.
- The Slimes that spawn from enemies with the slime attribute do not count as summoned enemies, which means they do give you cash upon death.

Trivia
- The skeletal system inside of the Slime is incredibly different to that of the Skeleton's regular appearance.
- The Fallen Skeleton, however, has a skull that is similar to that of the Slime.
- The Slime is the only enemy to not emit the shard and dust particles on death since the Entity System Update.
- The Commander mentions the Slime appearing on Wave 10, despite it first appearing on Wave 11.
- This is because it used to appear on that wave. However, due to rebalances, this was changed, with the dialogue being left unchanged due to an oversight.
