Imposter

Commands Only

This enemy can only be spawned in using commands by the developers.
Do not go out of your way to get any developer to spawn it in using commands.

"Hello?
Is this amogus??
Imposter? Is this the imposter from Among Us?"

Commander dialogue on Wave 1 (Formerly, Fallen)

Description

The Imposter is a joke enemy that can only be spawned in through commands. When killed, it will give the player the Suspicious... badge, which can be used to claim Experience 150 EXP in Rewards. It was added as part of April Fools' Day 2021 and was exclusive to Fallen mode. Only one Imposter spawned per entrance on Fallen mode, which is at the start of wave 1. It was later re-added on 6th of March 2024 as a commands only enemy, thought its reward would not be brought back until 13th of March 2024.

The Imposter has extremely high health and speed for its debut during April Fools' Day 2021, being much faster than the Fallen Rusher.

Appearance

The Imposter has red skin with a black outline (to mimic a cartoon style), and a blue visor. It has a fast wobbling animation as it ran.

April Fools Strategy

As this enemy only appears through commands, no strategy section is made for its current version. Instead, a strategy section for the April Fools 2021 update is listed.

  • Towers that rely on units, such as the Military Base are ineffective, as the Imposter will pass through the units.
  • High DPS towers for early game are necessary to kill the Imposter.
  • The Imposter is not hidden (despite being a Ghost enemy), so hidden detection is not required.
  • The best map to defeat the Imposter in is Polluted Wasteland as it crosses the middle multiple times.
    • Outside of Polluted Wasteland, it is unlikely that you will be able to kill the Imposter. Therefore, you can use the Medic to heal back your base health.
      • This makes using Farms less viable as you have less base health to sacrifice.
    • Unless you have over 198 base health or deal enough damage to the Imposters where you do not lose all your base health, dual lane maps, such as Winter Stronghold, are impossible to beat on Fallen mode, as two Imposters would spawn at the beginning of Wave 1.

Trivia

  • Despite originally being a ghost enemy, towers without hidden detection could still target and attack the Imposter as it is not a hidden enemy.
    • This made Imposter the first ghost enemy to not also be a hidden enemy.
  • The Imposter is the fastest enemy in the game.
  • The Imposter is a reference to the game Among Us.
  • When the Imposter spawns and dies, it plays a unique sound effect.
    • The former sound is taken from Among Us itself, being the death sound to indicate that you have been murdered.
    • The latter sound is an audio clip from Yelling "among us" sound effect.
  • The Commander dialogue is a reference to the Hello is this the Imposter from Among Us? YouTube meme.
    • The misspelt Among Us as Amogus is a reference to the Amogus meme.
  • Killing the Imposter awards the Suspicious... badge.
    • Originally, it had a requirement of one minute, which was the time until the first wave ends.
    • The When the imposter is SUS! in the badge description is a reference to the When the imposter is sus! meme.
  • The Imposter may have been based on the Golden Zombie from Tower Battles.
  • Initially, the Imposter would get stuck running on the first bridge of Autumn Falling due to a glitch, making it easy to kill.
    • This was patched soon after the Imposter was added, rendering the strategy useless.
  • The word Imposter is more commonly known (and spelt) as Impostor.
    • However, both variants of the word are correct and the game referred to this enemy as the Imposter.
  • Despite no longer naturally appearing in the game, the Imposter could appear as an enemy for the Kill ENEMY! quest between the 6th of March 2024 and 8th of March 2024. As it has 99 health, the number of kills required is 101.
    • Additionally, it was not the only enemy that did not currently appear in the game to appear in this quest during that period. There was also an enemy called the Arrow, with a requirement of one kill. However, this enemy had never actually appeared anywhere in the game at the time, unlike the Imposter.
      • The Arrow would later appear in Headache Headquarters, however, its health would be heavily reduced, as it previously had nine billion health. The Imposter would not make an appearance.
