The Slot[1] (スロト[2] Suroto?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, bat-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman.
Appearance
The Slots have round black bodies with cartoonish black eyes, purple bat wings, and red cable-like legs with gray pincers for feet. For attire, they wear flat black top hats with gray bands and gray bowties. They also carry around golden coins on their backs and in their feet.
Game appearances
Sonic Advance
In Sonic Advance, the Slots appear as enemies. They are only encountered in Casino Paradise Zone. However, they do not appear in the game on Easy mode.
In gameplay, the Slots fly around left and right, occasionally stopping to drop coins. The player must avoid touching these coins as they will damage the playable character. Perform a Spin Jump or a similar aerial attack on these Badniks to destroy them. Also, upon their destruction, they will release an Animal.
Other game appearances
Sonic Pinball Party
In Sonic Pinball Party, the Slots appear as obstacles. They can be found on certain pinball tables.
Powers and abilities
In addition to being capable of flight, the Slots can generate an endless supply of coins that they use as weapons by dropping them on foes.
