Skull Chao

Skull Chao is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Chao that can increase their bonded individual's rewards.

Appearance

Skull Chao have light blue pudding-like bodies with round, waterdrop-like heads. They also have large eyes, no noses or mouths, round torsos that are smaller than their heads, smooth feet with no legs, and arms with no visible hands. In addition, neither their arms nor feet have digits. They also have a floating yellow orb above their heads, short and round tails, and a small set of wings on their backs. The tips of their limbs are yellow. They wear a white skull on their heads.

Sonic Adventure 2

In Sonic Adventure 2 and it's ports, Chao can wear a skull hat as one of the many hats available to them, making them into Skull Chao.

Sonic Runners

In Sonic Runners, the Skull Chao is a Power Type buddy that boosts the number of Animal Friends saved. It is available on the Premium Roulette.

Sonic Speed Simulator

In Sonic Speed Simulator, Skull Chao is a collectible pet of the "Epic" rarity, previously a "Seasonal" rarity. Skull Chao could be obtained from the Green Hill Zone Spin Wheel during the Riders Shadow event, where it had a 7.25% chance of being rolled.

Previously, Skull Chao was available twice in previous events:

1. During the 2022 Halloween events, players could purchase Skull Chao during week 1 of Amy's BOOtique for 400 Candy.
2. During the last week of the 2022 Halloween events, Skull Chao was available for purchase via a podium in Pumpkin Hill, again costing 400 Candy.

In gameplay, Skull Chao can be equipped to the playable character, allowing them to fly by the side of the playable character as they move around. In addition, when equipped, Skull Chao will grant additional Experience Points whenever the playable character obtains a Chaos Orb and additional Rings whenever they pick up a single Ring. The player can as well level up Skull Chao for a cost of Rings and/or Red Star Rings at the Upgrade Machine, with level 25 being the maximum level. Leveling up a Skull Chao will improve its reward-granting attributes. Additionally, the player can fuse a Skull Chao by collecting five Skull Chao, leveling all of them up to maximum, and bringing them to the Fusion Machine. Fusing a Skull Chao will result in a singular fused Chao at level 1.

Powers and abilities

Skull Chao are capable of flight. In addition, they possess the power to increase the rewards granted to the person they have bonded with.
