Elder Koco[1] (長老ココ[2] Chōrō Koko?) are creatures that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are a type of Koco inhabiting the Starfall Islands.

Description

Anatomy

The Elder Koco, like other Koco, are small, stone-like creatures. Short and round in stature, the Elder Koco can be easily distinguished by their branching adornments on their heads, as well as their mossy facial hair, covering the entire lower half of their bodies.

Characteristics and culture

Elder Koco seemingly serve as leaders to the other Koco. When their lost Koco are returned to them, they express gratitude towards Sonic.

Overview

When Sonic delivers 15 lost Koco to the Elder Koco, it will thank Sonic by increasing one of his stats, boosting either the hedgehog’s speed or maximum ring count.

  • Elder Koco bear some similarities to Hestu from The Legend of Zelda series.
    • Both award the player by increasing their stats if they find the person's lost companions.
