Portal Gate

The Portal Gate^[1] (ポータルゲート^[2], Pōtaru Gēto^?) is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a digital dimensional portal to both enter and exit the Cyber Space.

Description

Portal Gates are depicted as bright wormhole surrounded by series of gray right pyramid objects that are constantly rotating around it.

Overview

At the beginning of Sonic Frontiers, Sonic is being separated from Tails and Amy by being sucked into the wormhole and sending him to the Cyber Space.^[3][4] In the game, Portal Gates function as entrance points, where Sonic begins the Cyber Space stage each time by running through the gate at high speed or being dropping down to the stage terrain.

At the end of each Cyber Space stage, another Portal Gate is found stationary for the player to exit the stage. In some Cyber Space stages, the player is required to defeat a small group of Badniks located in one place to make the Portal Gate appear.

During The Final Horizon, a blue Portal Gate (called the Hidden Goal), is found in most of the Cyber Space stages, where reaching it is one of the Missions.

Upon completing the stage, the results screen appears to calculate the player's progression of completing each four Missions and getting Ranks in order to obtain Vault Keys or Lookout Koco in Open Zone gameplay.
