Wrench Attack

The Wrench Attack^[1] (スパナアタック^[2], Supana Atakku^?, lit. "Spanner Attack") is a move that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a move used by Miles "Tails" Prower where he throws wrenches at his enemies.

Description

When using the Wrench Attack, Tails simply throws a wrench in the direction he's facing. If Tails is locked onto an object or an enemy, the Wrench Attack will instead home in on it, similar to the Homing Attack.

Overview

In Sonic Frontiers, the Wrench Attack is one of Tails' Skills in The Final Horizon. To use it, the player must press // in order to perform it. It can also be performed while boosting, jumping, or flying. In order to unlock it, the player must use five Skill Points as Tails.

The move is significantly weaker against Guardians, making it unsuitable for close-range combat. However, the move able to be spammed by tapping repeatedly, which somewhat compensates its low damage output^footnote and allows Tails to remain in a safe distance from enemy attacks.

The Wrench attack is also useful in clearing hazardous obstacles, such as bombs and other breakable obstacles. However, it is completely useless against springs, pulleys, and Horizontal Bars if locked on.

Note: For some reason, on Hard Mode, Tails' wrenches are capable of four or five shotting Guardians with max strength.
