Air Saver is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is an Extreme GearGear Part that decreases the Air consumption rate that an Extreme Gear uses throughout a race.
Description
Air Saver is an installable performance-enhancing component for Extreme Gears. Its actual appearance is unknown, though it is presented as an icon on the head-up display in the top-left corner of the game screen. Its icon is a dark green-colored circle with a light green fuel-dispenser with a pump and an arrow that curves up inscribed in it.
Overview
In gameplay, Air Saver is a customizable Gear Part that can be attached to different Extreme Gears. It can be bought from the shop for 500 Rings after the player has completed Team Rose's story.
When in use, Air Saver makes the playable character's Extreme Gear burn less Air over throughout the race, taking longer for the Air Gauge to fully deplete itself.
When using a Board-Type Gear, if Air Saver is installed into the front slot, it becomes active in gameplay once the race begins. If installed into the rear slot, however, the player can activate Air Saver via switching their stance by turning their body around due to the Kinect controls of the game. This motion will also deactivate Air Saver if it was active.
