Synopsis

At the off-leash area, Komugi is playing with Ema and Pon when Ema notices that Iroha isn't running. She claims she's a little tired, so Ema runs off to play some more. Iroha looks up to the sky, with Fuku's passing still fresh in her mind. Komugi senses something's wrong and rejoins Iroha to rub against her leg. Then, Satoru and Daifuku arrive, and Iroha greets him like nothing's bothering her, but Satoru can tell that she's only pretending to be okay, and she still feels deep sadness.

At Niko Garden, goes through the list of all the missing Niko Animals and realizes that all of them have been found. He thanks the Cures for their help and says they must double their efforts to quell the wolves. However, Iroha isn't paying attention and Mey Mey scolds her for losing focus. Then, Komugi strokes her leg again and she isn't sure what's happening, but Satoru and Mayu are concerned. Meanwhile, Torame has gotten bored again waiting for Gaou to awaken and goes looking for another Gaogaon.

Iroha is walking Komugi near the Mirror Stone Shrine when she sees Otsuru, Okame, and Oshika, who have come to visit it after Otsuru had Fuku enshrined at the memorial tower. Otsuru also admits she still feels sad about Fuku whenever she goes walking, but talking with her friends cheers her up. They all appreciate their friendship, and Iroha is glad that Otsuru has them to fall back on.

While Iroha goes pay her respects, Satoru and Mayu figure out something is wrong with Iroha, but she's been hiding it well. They also want to make her feel better, but neither of them can figure out how. Yuki suggests leaving her alone for a while, but they don't want to. Then she asks them what they do when they're feeling bad and they both say that they play with their pets, though there's no time for that now. Niko thinks Iroha will be okay since she has friends, but she is worried about Torame. Meanwhile, Torame tries to look for another Garugaru egg, but he can't find one. Frustrated, he lets out a loud howl, and the Cures become alert.

As the Cures try to find the source of the howl, Iroha notices an upset Torame looking over a railing. She and Komugi meet up with him and he becomes startled. Torame also claims that he'll find another Gaogaon soon and Iroha tries to tell him that there are no more eggs and all the Niko Animals have returned. Torame appears to be upset until he decides he'll just play with the Cures himself. Komugi is extremely happy, which confuses Torame because he didn't mean it literally, but Komugi says it's fun. She then reminds Iroha how it's wonderful when they play together, even if things are bad, and Iroha realizes that Komugi was trying to comfort her the whole time. She then agrees to play with Torame as well, and once the other Cures join and agree to play with him as well, the Cures all transform.

The Cures start by playing tag and Torame chases after him. He almost tags Friendy, but she manages to evade him. They reach a steep hill, where Friendy uses the Kirarin Penguin's power to create an icy slide. Wonderful loses her footing, but Torame belly flops on the ice before turning into his wolf form and tagging Friendy. As Torame chases the others, Friendy smiles and starts to feel a little relief.

Torame decides to take a shortcut to avoid getting caught by the Cures, but once he reaches a river, the ground below him collapses and he falls. Luckily, Friendy jumps to his rescue and after a brief struggle, manages to take his hand before flying to safety. As the two fly, Torame takes in the stunning view of Animal Town. Torame wants to continue playing tag and once he and Friendy land, he tags Lillian and runs away from her. Once Lillian figures out what's happening, she joins the others.

Torame turns back into a wolf and starts running down the hill. The other Cures chase after him and start to have a lot of fun doing it. Friendy recalls wanting to become a Pretty Cure so she could run with Komugi and see the same sights as her. They've both become very happy that can run with each other now. Torame overhears their story and says he used to have lots of fun running through the mountains with his friends and would love to do so once more. Friendy listens to his story and smiles as they all continue playing tag. Niko is overjoyed that Torame is happy now and Satoru believe it's because he met Friendy and she made him smile.

As they all lay in the grass, Torame asks Friendy if they could still be friends even after previously rejecting her. Friendy says that they are already friends because of the fun they've just had, and Torame agrees. It is then that the flame inside his orb goes out and he starts to glow with yellow light and float. Niko explains that the wolves' anger that stained the Niko Diamond has disappeared, meaning that he can go peacefully back to the afterlife. Friendy is upset about this at first, but he tells the Cures to purify him with Eternal Kizuna Shower. which will cause his angry feelings to go away and be replaced with happiness.

Friendy is reluctant at first because she doesn't want to say goodbye, but Torame tells her he wants to hear her voice. He's made friends with those he hated at first and has no regrets. As Friendy starts crying, Torame tells her to take care of Gaou for him. Friendy then dries her tears and reaffirms her goal to befriend every animal in the world, and she and the other Cures use Eternal Kizuna Shower on Torame. As he's purified, he lets out one last howl that Gaou overhears. Niko returns the diamond's shard to her tiara and Torame turns back into a wolf statue. Satoru recognizes it as a guardian dog statue from Mount Toboe's shrine and that it's his true form.

Komugi is happy they've become friends with Torame, but Iroha's still worried, so Komugi gives her a big hug to make her feel better. The rest of the group joins in and Iroha feels warm, and she wants to do the same for Zakuro and Gaou too. She also says there she may experience pain and sadness with her friends, but there's also more happiness and fun, so she'll try her best to befriend the other wolves. Torame's statue is returned to the shrine and as Iroha leaves, she happily looks up to the sky.
