A Special Kind Of Wonderful (特別なワンダフル Tokubetsu na Wandafuru)? is the 36th episode of Wonderful Pretty Cure! and is the 1004th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.
Summary
Satoru works up his courage and confesses his feelings to Iroha. But Iroha is so surprised she runs away. Iroha thinks hard about Satoru's "special feelings" up until the morning comes...

Synopsis
After Mey Mey lets it slip that Satoru loves Iroha, she doesn't know what to say. Komugi tells him she also loves Iroha, but Yuki and Mayu telling her that it's a different kind. Mey Mey tries passing it off as a joke, and Iroha thinks that it is, but Satoru tells her he really means it: he loves her.
Once Satoru confesses his feelings, Iroha's heart beats fast and blood rushes to her face in embarrassment. Iroha then runs away as thoughts of Satoru liking her rush through her mind and isn't sure what to do. As the other Cures try catching up, Komugi joins up with her and asks why she's running, but Iroha still can't think straight and doesn't even know what she's doing. Komugi then takes Iroha's hand and suggests going for a walk.
Back at the bridge, Satoru is convinced that Iroha turned him down. Niko assures him that Iroha could just be surprised by his sudden confession, and he believes her. He knows Iroha has never really though of him in a romantic sense, so that might have been why she acted that way. Satoru then leaves after thanking Mey Mey for offering his help. Meanwhile, Mayu and Yuki wait for Iroha near her house when she and Komugi return from their walk. Iroha and Mayu get ready for a talk while Yuki volunteers to play with Komugi. Yuki plays fetch with Komugi and she can't believe how much Komugi wants to play.
Inside, Mayu tells Iroha how much Satoru likes her and Iroha becomes flustered again. She's always seen Satoru as a very good friend and asks Mayu what the difference between friendship love and romantic love is. Mayu thinks romantic love is more thrilling, but Iroha says she feels that way with her friends, leaving Mayu with nothing else to say. Then, Tsuyoshi enters and assumes that the two are talking about their favorite animals until Youko reminds him he has a customer waiting.
Youko notices Iroha's acting strange and assumes Satoru confessed his love to her. She can't describe the difference between romance and friendship and admits she had a few people confess to her over the years. However, the only person she's ever confessed to was Tsuyoshi because of how fun he is to be with. Iroha then asks if it's different from wanting to be friends forever with someone, but Youko doesn't know how to explain it and says her feelings towards Tsuyoshi are special, and Iroha starts to realize something.
Meanwhile, at Satoru's house, he tells Daifuku about the confession and Iroha's reaction. Daifuku then gets Satoru to let him out while Niko teleports herself in to apologize for Mey Mey spoiling everything. She also explains that it's important for someone to share their feelings and notices Daifuku's reaction. Niko then translates Daifuku, saying that he always thought Satoru should hurry up and tell Iroha how he feels. She also says Daifuku thinks that Satoru holds back on those things due to his worries about what others feel. Finally, Satoru should remain true to himself no matter how Iroha may feel and to pet him when he gets worried. Satoru thanks him and also thanks Niko for translating Daifuku's thoughts.
That night, Iroha has difficulty sleeping because she keeps thinking about what it means to have a "special feeling". At school the next day, she wonders how she could face Satoru and freaks out once he arrives. While Iroha tries to make small talk with Satoru, he tells her they should just remain friends for now. Iroha reluctantly agrees as homeroom class starts. Meanwhile at Gaou's lair, Zakuro is bored because Gaou is still asleep and decides to go look for some excitement.
Throughout the day, Iroha thinks about what Satoru said and isn't sure how to deal with it. Soon after, Mayu asks Satoru if he's confident with his decision while Yuki reminds Iroha she should talk her own advice about telling someone her feelings. On the beach, Zakuro observes and becomes disgusted by all the couples. Then, she spots a couple of black kites flying and turns one of them into a Gaogaon. As the Gaogaon attacks the couples, the Cures arrive and after Satoru confirms it's a black kite, the Cure transform.
Zakuro orders the Gaogaon to attack and it handily beats the Cures. The force of one of its attacks sends Satoru flying and knocks his glasses off. Zakuro suddenly takes interest in Satoru and kidnaps him, despite his protests. The two ride on the Gaogaon while Friendy watches in shock at Zakuro stealing Satoru from her. She gets up and runs towards the Gaogaon, jumping as high as she can to catch it, but it's too far high and she falls to the ground. Then, thoughts of Satoru's kindness rush through Friendy's head and she regains her resolve, calling upon the Kirarin Swan to gain the ability to fly and goes to rescue Satoru.
As the other Cures come up with a plan, Friendy reaches the Gaogaon and demands that Zakuro gives Satoru back. The Gaogaon knocks Friendy over again, but she finally realizes her true feelings for Satoru. He has always been there to help Iroha and now she wants to help him out and be with him forever. She flies towards the Gaogaon again, declaring that Satoru is irreplaceable, which causes him to blush.
As this happens, Nyammy manages to reach them and summons her Nyammy Shield to force the Gaogaon to change directions. Then, Lillian catches it with Lillian Net, but it knocks Satoru off. Thankfully, Friendy rescues Satoru before he could fall into the ocean while Wonderful uses Puni Puni Barrier to help them land safely. With the Gaogaon caught, the Cures change into their Diamond Ribbon Style forms and turn it back into a black kite with Eternal Kizuna Shower. After Niko heals the black kite, Friendy asks Satoru if he's hurt. While watching the two talk, Zakuro isn't liking how romantic they're acting and retreats to her old love, Gaou.
Friendy de-transforms back into Iroha and catching on to what's happening, Yuki and Mayu offer to walk Komugi. Iroha wants to tell Satoru her feelings, but she doesn't know how. Satoru interrupts her train of thought by mentioning how he feels ashamed that Iroha's always rescuing him. Iroha then says it's not true because she always pictures his face whenever she feels stuck and apologizes for bothering him by depending on him. However, Satoru is glad that Iroha finds him of help. The two look into each other's eyes and Iroha says that compared to the "wonderful" she feels around her friends, she feels a "special kind of wonderful" when she's around him, meaning a romantic love. Iroha hopes what she says made sense, and Satoru replies that he feels the same way. Iroha's happy that Satoru understands as the two standing lovingly on the beach.
